Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Shanawaz Shaikh announce arrival of first child with adorable click

It is official! Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Shanawaz Shaikh are expecting their first child. The couple made the announcement on Instagram. We can see them holding a tiny onesie with the phrase, ‘You can stop asking now’. Devoleena Bhattacharjee is seen wearing the traditional Assamese Mekhala chador with some jewellery, while Shanawaz is also in traditional clothes. A Panchamrit function was held for the mother and child. We can see her posing with her family and friends. Devoleena Bhattacharjee was rumoured to be pregnant for some time now. Her appearance at Arti Singh’s wedding also sparked off speculations. The actress has been holding pujas at home as she is set to embark on a new journey.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee got married to Shanawaz Shaikh after the lockdown. The sudden marriage news left fans in disbelief. There were many who felt she would marry her BFF Vishal Singh. The actress got trolled immensely on social media for her inter-faith marriage. There were also reports on how her extended family was upset with her decision to marry a man outside her religion. Devoleena Bhattacharjee said that Shanawaz Shaikh was a source of support when she was bedridden with lumber pain. As we know, she suffered a bad injury on Bigg Boss 13. It left her with gaps in her spinal cord. 

Devoleena Bhattacharjee did a Satyanarayana Puja at her home some days back. When netizens did not notice Shanawaz Shaikh they trolled her saying such a puja was incomplete without husband. But others said it was wonderful to see her so spiritually inclined. 

Devoleena Bhattacharjee is a very religious person. Every year, she does Ganpati festival at home. Like most Assamese, she is an ardent devotee of Goddess Kamakhya. The actress spoke in detail about how her brother and she struggled after the demise of their father. He died an untimely death and her mother had to raise the two kids all alone with their grandmother. Devoleena had cried when she spoke about how her mother battled depression as she worked to raise the children. Fans of the actress are happy to see her enjoy a blissful life with her husband.
