Pune, June 17 (IANS) Forty young things from a children's club sat glued to the big screen as actor Sachin Khedekar, who has lent his voice to the animated version of 'Dashavatar' as Lord Vishnu, gave them company at the film's premiere here.
The film was screened for children of the Deepa Graha Society in Kuthrud over the weekend.
Sachin has given the voiceover for the main character Vishnu in 'Dashavatar' - his first such first experience.
'It was a different experience working for an animated film, as one only lends one's voice. Hence it is not an easy task to imagine a character and then deliver,' said Sachin at the end of the screening.
Others who have lent their voices include Shatrughan Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tom Alter and Rupa Ganguly.
'Dashavatar' is the story of Lord Vishnu's 10 incarnations and how they descend on earth to rid the world of evil and save mankind.
Sachin said: 'We must encourage people to make more animated movies on mythology. In the modern era, kids learn by watching visuals which are more effective and interesting than reading stories.'
Pune-based Phoebus Media Creation Pvt. Ltd produced the entire animated film in their studio here. 'Dashavatar' has been directed by Bhavik Thakore from the Film and Television Institute of India. The film was made at a cost of Rs.120 million.
The animated version was released simultaneously with the much talked about epic drama 'Dasavathaaram' starring Kamal Haasan.
