'Channel V' to get SHUT down..??

Mega channels shutting down comes as a major shock to the millions of viewers. The impact of that news is much bigger than the news about any particular show going off-air. When one show goes off-air there are some viewers who get saddened, but when a channel is shut, there are a number of shows having millions of fans that get saddened by the same.

In the past, many have received such shocks when mammoth channels like Star One and NDTV Imagine have set curtains. And another shock is about to hit the masses.

One of the most popular and loved youth channels, Channel V may be all set to shut its shop.

As shocking as it may sound, it may well be true.

The 22-year-old channel which has been responsible for giving us cult shows like 'Dil Dosti Dance', 'Gumrah' and 'Sadda Haq' may soon shut down.

Going down the vault, the international Channel V was recently shut in February 2016, turning it into a 24-hour music video station.

According to our sources, the current running shows on the channel which includes some popular ones like 'Mastaangi', 'Sadda Haq 2', 'D4 - Get Up and Dance', 'Gumrah Season 5' among others will be going off-air. The tentative date for this is 30th June when the shows will be airing their last episodes.

And effective from July 1, the channel is in plans for a probable shutdown or a revamp into an all music channel.

The fans will surely be deeply saddened by this news.

I'm happy.
What they did to D3 and to Palki and the previous cast. I would never forgive them. (They ruined the very show i was so proud of)

I wanted channel V to shut down for a very long time. And Karma always works. So ya thanks for D3 but I'm not at all sad.

This is not so fair to do this. Star India shutted Star One as well. These channels had given us iconic shows rather than those saas bahu ones.

loved d3 loads n even after 1 year of d3 end I still surf through the channel only to find whether there are repeats of the blissful 2011 d3 with ch v logo..will miss my integral part

shocking... Dil Dostii Dance was te best show ever!!!!!!!!!! Specially first episodes where i fell in love wit almost all characetr's ,... even old shows like paanch, H2L,suvreen n gumrah,buddy project was good!! thanku 4 giving te best youth show ever! love D3 #memories!

This is a massive shock!! Cant believe they're actually gonna do this! This channel has given us some of the best shows like The Buddy Project, Paanch and Mastaangi! How can they even think of shutting down this channel?

Does this mean Mastaangi will end abruptly? Man I'm so attached to this show and now this news comes up! I hope some other channel picks up Mastaangi so that it stays but on another channel. Please dont end Mastaangi! It's unique and very beautiful show and definitely one of the best shows ever made on Channel V.
