"Brij Mohan Amar Rahe" director Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt says he couldn't have asked for a better launchpad for his film, which will be screened on the opening night of The South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) in New York on Wednesday,
The movie, also known as "Long Live Brij Mohan", is backed by Saregama India's film studio Yoodlee Films.
"I am glad that 'Brij Mohan Amar Rahe' will be the opening movie at the South Asian international festival. This festival is pretty known and big at its level and I couldn't ask for a better launchpad for my film. Hope we have more opportunities like this and also looking forward to the response from an international audience," Bhatt said in a statement.
The South Asian International Film Festival, presented by HBO, now in its 14th year, showcases the very best in South Asian independent cinema to New York City with all screenings taking place at Landmark Sunshine Theater, New York City.
A Hindi-language black comedy-crime drama, the movie features Arjun Mathur, Sheetal Thakur, Nidhi Singh and Manav Vij in lead roles. The satirical film revolves around a young man who is convicted of his own murder.
SAIFF, in its 14th edition now, is a known platform for South Asian/Indian filmmakers in the US. Kalki Koechlin and Sumit Vyas-starrer "Ribbon" will be the closing movie of SAIFF 2017.
