Box Office report day 5: 'Mission Raniganj' inches closer to 20 crores; 'Thank You For Coming' takes a fall

The box office battleground in Bollywood continues to witness intriguing developments as 'Mission Raniganj' and 'Thank You For Coming' mark their presence on the big screen. Both films, catering to distinct genres and audiences, have revealed their day 5 collections, painting a diverse picture of their performance.
'Mission Raniganj,' directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and starring the formidable duo of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, embarked on its box office journey with high hopes. As per recent reports, the film, based on the inspiring true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission in 1989, has managed to garner approximately ₹16 crore in India since its release last week. On its fifth day, 'Mission Raniganj' brought in an estimated ₹1.5 crore nett, indicating that it's still attracting audiences.

The film's performance trajectory started strong, earning ₹2.8 crore on its opening day, and on day two, it continued to draw audiences, collecting ₹4.8 crore. Day three saw a consistent trend, with ₹5 crore added to its tally. However, day four experienced a minor dip, earning ₹1.50 crore. Thus far, 'Mission Raniganj' has amassed ₹15.6 crore in India, showing steady momentum at the box office.
On the other hand, 'Thank You For Coming,' a Bollywood sex comedy directed by Karan Boolani, has been performing weakly at the domestic box office. Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film features a star-studded ensemble, including Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi. On its fifth day, it added approximately ₹40 lakh nett to its collection.
The film opened with a collection of ₹1.06 crore in India on its first day, and it saw a significant boost on day two, with ₹1.56 crore. Day three contributed ₹1.8 crore, marking the highest single-day figure for 'Thank You For Coming' so far. However, the film experienced a decline of 77.78 percent on its fourth day, earning ₹40 lakh. With a total collection of around ₹5.22 crore in India, the film is carving its niche in the box office landscape.
