Bollywood is, without a doubt, extravagant, musical and colourful. A colour of every mood and occasion is the underlying mantra in Bollywood. Film makers have taken it one notch higher resolving their movies or characters around colours. While few finds solace in keeping a collection of paintings, there are the painters and artists who find their drug in those vibrant hues. Today, BollyCurry is back with few such Bollywood movie characters, whose job as a painter, is his very therapy.

Dil Chahta Hai (2001) is one of the best movies made till date in Bollywood, and so are the three characters around whom the movie revolves. One such character was been played by Akshaye Khanna. Essaying the character of Sid, he plays an artist who bonds and falls in love with his neighbour over their common love for art. Sid would always be remembered for his paintings, and his innovative inspiration for creating a portrait for his lady-love.

Safary not only played the character of a dyslexic child, Ishaan, but also a brilliant artist in the blockbuster, Taare Zameen Par (2007). The imagination of an eight year old child is explored to an exceptional level. Ishaan loves work of art and he melts our hearts with his outlook towards life, art and imagination; a perspective that is only visible in the eyes of a thoughtful painter.

Bollywood has given us a beautiful masterpiece in form of Rang Rasiya (2008). Hooda plays the biopic character of painter, Raja Ravi Varma, and truly lives the character of same. He has shown us various forms of art and that art knows no boundary. The movie earned accolades for its content overseas and was made as a bilingual, one version in Hindi and the other, in English.

Emraan Hashmi in Raaz: The Mystery ContinuesTum Mile and Raaz Reboot

Hashmi is one of the actors who has got an opportunity to play an artist three times in movies - Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), Tum Mile (2009) and the recently released, Raaz Reboot (2016). Hashmi plays an aspiring artist in the Raaz series, who is in search of masterpiece, while he plays a struggling artist in Tum Mile. All the characters have their own essence, but they showcase the only core theme; the beauty of using colours. While we see a supernatural outlook towards art in the Raaz series, we also get to see the positive and warm side in Tum Mile.

Remember the stoic artist, Noor, from Fitoor (2016)? Director Abhishek Kapoor created a brilliant character in the form of Noor. Engrossed in painting, forming structures and sketching, Noor was unrestricted and smooth. He completely stole the show with his intense look, his eyes gave a deep volume of artist feel. Deeply inspirational and undeterred, Noor is a character that young adults can look up to.

While these are the few characters that managed to capture our hearts, there are many more characters that have reigned over the course in Bollywood. Which is your favourite character?
