Bollywood Movie Promotions On Indian Television

Television industry is expanding tremendously and is continuously growing at an exponential rate. It is no longer considered second hand to Bollywood, as the lines between Tellywood and Bollywood are blurring, day by day; and various movie actors are debuting on television. However, it does not end there. Bollywood has taken it a notch higher by using television to promote their upcoming movies. Gone are the times when television was considered a small platform. After all, our small screen isn't small anymore! Today, BollyCurry presents to you a few such movies which used the small screen to connect with the masses.

One of the major platforms where actors prefer to promote their movies is reality shows. Actors have always taken a liking towards them; maybe, it's the blunt reality which excites them. Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 9 is one such show which is always studded with stars. We saw Tiger Shroff promoting his movie A Flying Jatt, along with the judge and co-star Jacqueline Fernandes on said show. Sonakshi Sinha graced the show to promote Akira, whilst, Amitabh Bachchan promoted Pink. Super Dancer is another dance show where we saw the cast of Tutak Tutak Tutiya promoting their movie. Ajay Devgn was also seen promoting his upcoming venture, Shivaay, on Super Dancer last week. Another show to make it to the list is Dance Plus 2 where we saw Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde promoting Mohenjo Daro, while Riteish Deshmukh promoted his upcoming flick, Banjo.

 

While we have reality shows at one end, comedy shows are not behind too. The Kapil Sharma Show recently saw various promotions. While Salman Khan promoted Sultan, Akshay Kumar made his presence for Rustom. We also saw Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde promoting Mohenjo Daro on the show.  Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon, Vijay Raaz were last to be seen on the show promoting their movie Saat Uchakkey. This weekend Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar came together to promote their much awaited movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on the very show.

  

Fictional shows are the most preferred medium, however, as many actors join forces with small screen's rising stars. A few months ago, Emraan Hashmi was seen promoting Azhar on shows like Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Dishoom was promoted by Varun Dhawan on Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma. We would soon see Ranbir Kapoor promoting his upcoming movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on Jamai Raja. While these are the promotions that happened recently, we also have few movies that were heavily promoted in the past. Salman Khan promoted Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) on Swaragini, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, Sasural Simar Ka and Kumkum Bhagya. Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor promoted Tamasha (2015) on Jaane Kya Hoga Rama Re. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol appeared on Saath Nibhaana Saathiya to promote Dilwale (2015), while Ranveer Singh made an appearance in Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain to promote Bajirao Mastani (2015).
