What would life be like without friends? Many would agree it's not too pleasing, at best.
In the expeditious life that our favourite Bollywood celebrities live, is it difficult to not only make friends but also maintain that friendship? The answer to this is, of course not! While there are close knit bonds that they share with individuals outside Bollywood, we cannot deny that some friendships seen off the screen within B-Town make it up to our list of #FriendshipGoals!
"If you fall I will pick you up... but after laughing"
First up are our(modern zamaaney ke Karan - Arjun)Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. WhileGundayfailed at Box Office, the chemistry between the leading men surely turned heads. The duo has not only hosted the 2015 IIFA Awards, wherein they had viewers glued to their seats for their comic acts, but they were also roasted together on the much-talked about show,AIB Knockout. Singh and Kapoor have been all but humorous during these offscreen interactions. If you missed it back then, you should immediately stream the radio show to watch for yourself because both define #FriendshipGoals right there!
"We want to kill each other at times, but in the end we always stick together"
The two first met on the sets ofKabhi Haan Kabhi Naain the year 1994 and inevitably, Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's friendship has blossomed since then. Friendship has its ups and downs just like every other relationship in life, therefore when rumours floated that the two Khans aren't on talking terms anymore, everything was put to rest when they made a comeback withHappy New Yearin 2014.In the 2008 blockbusterOm Shanti Om,the choreographer made a special appearance, and in that particular scene, she is seen physically fighting with Khan over then-superstar, Rishi Kapoor's jacket. The scene might have been on screen but it only portrayed a large level of comfort between the duo.
"A friend in need is a friend indeed"
You can find many people that will share your happiness, but only true keepers are the ones that share your sorrow. Such is the bond between Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, a bond that has been unbreakable for decades now. Khan played younger brother to Dutt in a number of movies includingSaajanandChal Mere Bhai. Even during the phase where both celebrities were stuck in their own tussle with the court, they never stopped speaking in favour of each other, whether it was in front of the media or in a private meeting with each other. It has been reported that when Dutt was released from jail earlier this year, Khan took an off from his movie,Sultan'sshoot only to fly to Mumbai and welcome his buddy back home.
"True friends don't judge each other. They judge other people together"
Who fits the above quote better than Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora? The first among the ladies in B-Town to break the stereotype that female actresses can never be friends, forget being the best of friends. In every occasion, happy or sad, Bebo and Arora have been seen alongside other. In fact, when Bebo was getting married to Nawab, Arora was on the verge of motherhood. Despite the big baby bump, she not only attended the wedding, but also gave somethumkasto celebrate her best friend's big day. They have also shared screen space in movies includingGolmaal ReturnsandKambakkht Ishq.
"Friends are the family we choose for ourselves"
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have been friends since childhood and call each otherchaddibuddies. They said that blending personal and professional relationships always bring an explosion that breaks both bonds. Fortunately enough, Akhtar and Sidhwani survived this. Their friendship went on the next level when they opened a production house in the name of Excel Entertainment together. Over ten movies have been made under this banner, the latest ones beingRaeesandRock On!!! 2.
"Some friends come into your life for a reason"
Can you imagine whatBajirao Mastaniwould be like without Kashibai? Priyanka Chopra has not only been a lucky charm for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone since her cameo item song inGoliyon Ki Raas Leela... Ram Leela, but also won Padukone's heart for warming up to her despite being a senior to her. Padukone went on record when she told the media that Chopra was her first real friend in the Bollywood industry. The duo was seen having a gala time in Karan Johar'sKoffee With Karan, where they visibly showed affection towards each other. Way to go, ladies!
"Some friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there"
This quote fits Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan. They go back to the 90s where Chawla was a senior to Khan inDarr(1993). During the shoot ofYes Bossin Prague, Chawla's father passed away. Khan made it a point to stall the shoot and spent his entire time consoling her, for which Chawla is thoroughly grateful. You might not be aware but Khan's first choice forChalte Chaltewas Chawla. When the production house failed to agree with Chawla's terms of shoot, Khan had a fall out with them as well, post which he has never worked with that production house. Khan and Chawla also co-own the Indian Premiere League (IPL) team, Kolkata Knight Riders and are often seen cheering the team during the seasonal matches.
"We'll be the old uncles causing a havoc in the senior nursing home"
Both Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh do not prefer publicising their relationship or affairs. They worked together in 2007's rom-com,Heyy Babyybut friendship only blossomed on the sets ofHousefullin 2010. The two are the only permanent members of the franchise and have a gala time not only while shooting, but also while playing pranks on other members of the team. Sajid Khan is their puppet in limelight and he is often seen complaining about the same (humorously, of course). It is always a treat to know that actors are not only cordial with each other off the screen, but also great of friends.
"Side by side or miles apart, friends are forever close to your heart"
Not many know that the duo who worked together as friends inBreak Ke Baadshare a lovely bond in real life as well. Deepika Padukone and Shahana Goswami are reportedly BFFs. They are often seen exchanging good words and virtual kisses on social media platforms. The duo also go for mini vacations and scuba diving whenever they have some spare time in hand. This proves that friendship does not limit itself to superstars, it extends to anyone who the heart warms up to.
