Bigg Boss OTT 3 has begun with a bang, introducing a groundbreaking twist right from its premiere. For the very first time in the show's history, mobile phones have been allowed inside the Bigg Boss house. During the premiere episode, the show's host, Anil Kapoor, engaged in a revealing conversation with the Bigg Boss in the confession room. It was confirmed that the rumours about phones being permitted inside were indeed true. But here's the kicker: only one contestant will have the privilege of possessing a mobile phone. This contestant has been designated as the house's spy.

The coveted role of the spy has been bestowed upon actress and social media influencer Sana Sultan. Anil Kapoor personally delivered the news to her, outlining that she would receive critical information from the outside world. Kapoor emphasised that she will also serve as the voice of the audience within the house, providing a unique perspective.

However, in a surprising turn of events during the live streaming on Jiocinema, it was revealed that each contestant has been issued an individual mobile phone. Yet, there's a catch: every phone comes with different settings, functions, and operational timings despite all displaying the accurate date. As contestants navigate their phones, trying to understand how they work and what they can do, Bigg Boss steps in and provides them with a rule book. This rule book outlines what they are allowed and not allowed to do while using the phones inside the house.

Here are the rules from the rule book:

1. Contestants are required to always have their phones with them.

2. When using the restroom, contestants can hang their phones outside, like the microphone.

3. Phones are only to be used for messaging purposes.

4. Contestants are asked not to tamper with the phone settings.

5. Contestants are not allowed to show their phones to others or let them read their messages (phones are private, and their contents are theirs and Bigg Boss's secret).

6. Switching off the phone is not allowed.

7. Only for charging purposes, contestants will be asked to keep their phones in the storeroom.

Thus, the stage is set for an unprecedented season of Bigg Boss OTT, where the introduction of mobile phones promises to add a new layer of intrigue, strategy, and interaction among the contestants.

For the unversed, this season's lineup of contestants includes well-known personalities such as Shobha De, Ranveer Shorey, Sai Ketan Rao, Sana Makbul, Sana Sultana, Chandrika Dixit, Vishal Pandey, Lovekesh Kataria, Shivani Kumari, Arman Malik, Payal Malik, Kritika Malik, and John Effer, among others.
