Bigg Boss 18: Rohit Shetty announces Nia Sharma as the first confirmed contestant for the show

TV star Nia Sharma, famous for her roles in shows like Naagin, is all set to kick off this year's edition of the reality show Bigg Boss as the first contestant. The 18th season of the hit reality series is scheduled to premiere on October 6, with Salman Khan making his comeback as the host. Amid much anticipation and speculation about this season's participants, Nia Sharma's confirmation marks the first official reveal.

A few days back, India forums had exclusively reported that Nia will be the first contestant announced, with her reveal set to take place during the finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 and during the Sunday finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 on Colors, the same channel that hosts Bigg Boss every season, Nia Sharma, fresh off her stint on Comedy Chefs, appeared as a guest. Host Rohit Shetty revealed that Nia would be the first contestant on Bigg Boss 18. Surrounded by congratulatory messages from other celebrities, Nia could only manage a nervous smile. Reports suggest that Nia had declined offers to join Bigg Boss in the past, making her change of heart this time a mysterious twist.

After getting the scoop, Nia reached out to ex-Bigg Boss and KKK 14 contestant Abhishek Kumar for some good vibes. In a heartening reply, he pledged his backing, promising to cast his vote for her.

Bigg Boss 18 isn't Nia's debut in reality TV; she's previously appeared on Khatron Ke Khiladi 8, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9, and Laughter Chefs.
