'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' in demand of a Tamil and Telugu remake; Will Anees Bazmee helm?

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in the pivotal roles is touted to one of the most successful Bollywood films released in 2022 till now.

The Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani film collected about Rs 185 crore in just India during its 50-day theatrical run, with a total worldwide in the north of Rs 250 crore. And now, it has been revealed that Tamil & Telugu film producers have shown a strong desire to remake Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in their respective languages.

One of the biggest films in Bollywood this year, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, not only made money but also received positive reviews from viewers. In the Tamil and Telugu film industries, horror comedies are a highly common genre that frequently succeed in making profits. Given the popularity of the genre and the fact that the Southern business had mastered it before the Hindi film industry, several producers are considering to recreate Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Tamil and Telugu, as per the latest reports.

The Hindi producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani haven't decided whether to co-produce the remake with the southern banners or give up the rights to it. "They have not yet decided to whom they would sell the rights. A number of discussions are ongoing; in fact, one of the producers wants Anees Bazmee to direct the Telugu movie with a renowned name in order to preserve the original's flavour, mentione the report further. 

It's interesting to note that the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a remake of the Tamil film Chandramukhi, which was in turn a remake of Manichitrathazhu. If everything goes as planned with the documentation and other factors, it appears like things will turn out differently this time. 

Meanwhile, talking about his professional engagements, Kartik Aaryan is now filming the Rohit Dhawan-helmed movie Shehzada, which is scheduled for release in November.
