#Bestof2016: 10 FRESH PAIRINGS that ROCKED the TV screens this year!

2016 was a year that will be remembered in the television industry as the year of FRESHNESS. And why do we say that? This year saw a bombardment of new pairings on the TV screens. Unlike in the past, where 'tried and tested' was a trend that was continued, TV witnessed the era of experimentation and it clicked in style.

One of the toughest tasks while writing about this category was to select the best of the best. And needless to say, we were spoilt for options.

Before we begin, we give some honourable mentions to onscreen couples like Karan V Grover-Ridhima Pandit and Viraf Phiroz Patel-Barkha Bisht Sengupta, but the TOP 10 were clear winners.

So, here are the 10 couples that rocked the TV screens this year-

Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar in 'Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki'

Their on-screen chemistry can itself be justified with the fact how Kratika had to return to the show after exiting it. The pairing of Ssharad and Shivani Tomar couldn't click, resulting in a dip in ratings and fans demanding the comeback of Kratika. So, there is is, Rishi and Tanu wowed us and continue to do so.

Namik Paul and Nikita Dutta in 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste'

Another example of immense fan love and popularity in a complete contrast, the show went off-air after running for seven months. However, the on-screen chemistry of Namik Paul aka Shravan and Nikita Dutta aka Suman wowed one and all with their nok-jhok and few lovely moments.

Harshad Arora and Tridha Choudhary in 'Dahleez'

This tale was one-of-a-kind where, Harshad's massive fan base had several problems with his new pairing with Tridha as they wanted to see Harshad-Preetika Rao together once again. However, once the show went on-air, Harshad-Tridha's pairing was loved and the couple are even rumoured to be dating in real life.

Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi in 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'

The inclusion of this couple is the example of CHANGE in itself. Mohsin and Shivangi's on-screen chemistry was loved so much, that Karan Mehra-Hina Khan's pairing took a backseat and apparently even resulted in Karan and Hina quitting the show.

Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna in 'Ishqbaaaz'

Nakuul had the pressure of recreating the magic of on-screen chemistry after Nakuul's hit pairing in the past with Disha Parmar in 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai...Meetha Metha...Pyaara Pyaara'. And the NEW on-screen pairing did not disappoint. The pairing of Nakuul and Surbhi aka Shivaay and Anika is loved and adored to bounds.

Vikram Singh Chauhan and Shivani Surve in 'Jaana Na Dil Se Door'

This underdog show had the NEW underdog pairing of Vikram and Shivani aka Atharv and Vividha. The audience loved their chemistry so much, that inspite of belonging to an unconventional timeslot, the show has become really popular.

Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik in 'Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii'

Belonging to the big league, 'Shakti..' continues to be a ratings topper for consecutive weeks. And the major chunk of credit for this goes to the 'fresh pairing' of Vivian and Rubina who were making their comebacks to TV after a long time. The nok-jhok and one-of-a-kind love story of Harman and Saumya is a treat.

Arjun Bijlani and Drashti Dhami in 'Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil'

The show is barely a month old, but the scale of the show is grand and opulent. And though, the concept of the show is getting mixed reviews, we are surely placing our bets on the superstar and fresh pairing of Arjun and Drashti, which can be one of the pivotal factors in show's success in future.

Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes in 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'

This pairing became a sensation since the day of the show's inception. Dev and Sonakshi's tale of hating each other-to loving each other-to getting married has been a treat for the viewers, where a special mention goes to Shaheer and Erica for their performances.

Kushal Tandon and Jennifer Winget in 'Beyhadh'

Another one-of-a-kind pairings, where an extremely obsessive woman goes beyhadh' time and again to express her love for her lover, Jennifer is certainly acing the character of Maya. However, the pairing of Kushal and Jennifer is a treat where the balance is perfect and not too over-powering.
