One of the most controversial and yet the most popular reality shows of the country, Bigg Boss has returned with the thirteenth season and fans can’t keep calm. As opposed to the past few years, this year will be an all celebrity season. Everyone’s favorite host Salman Khan will be hosting this season too. Every year, the house follows a theme, and this year’s theme is horror.
While, actors Siddharth Shukla, Devoleena Bhattacharjee and music composer Anu Malik’s brother Abu Malik are the confirmed contestants for the season and have already been shown in the promo, popular TV actress Dalljiet Kaur has also given her nod to get locked inside the Bigg Boss house.
In an exclusive chat with India Forums, Dalljiet shared with us her reason to take up the show, tips she took from her friends and much more.
Your career in television has been going quite good, so what made you choose to get locked inside the Bigg Boss House?
I think it’s a career move for me. I believe every reality show gives you a different exposure with a different set of audience all together. I think as an artist I’m just trying to figure some things about my career and like you said everything is going great and the roles that I’m doing are getting appreciated, so I think it’s a good time for me to explore.
Have you seen the earlier seasons?
No, I haven’t seen the entire seasons but have seen them in bits. I’m a mother and being a mother and watching all these shows don’t go hand in hand.
You are a single mother, how are you planning to balance between parenthood and Bigg Boss?
I don’t know how am I going to manage it, I’m very nervous. I have never left him, this is going to be the first time that I will be going away from him for such a long time. I'm nervous because I don’t know how is he going to react over this.
In the past few seasons, commoners were given a chance in Bigg Boss, however this time yet again it’s an all celebrity season. Do you think it’s a good thing?
Honestly, I don’t know, guess we’ll figure out during the season. I think in Bigg Boss house everybody is new and unknown to each other because even the celebrities who are enrolling in might not be knowing each other too well. We meet other celebrities in various functions, award shows and all but that’s about it. So commoners or no commoners, it doesn’t matter.
Have you got any tips from your friends in the industry who have already done Bigg Boss?
Ohh, Karishma (Tanna) is a close friend of mine and she has done Bigg Boss and she advised me to just do my thing and be real. In fact, all my friends have the same advice for me so I’m keeping that in mind.
Which quality of yours do you think can help you win the show?
I think being a mother makes me very empathetic and strong and I think that might be my strength.
Bigg Boss goes on air on Colors from 29th September.
