Avantika Hundal on why she was away for three years & her role in 'Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye'

Actor Avantika Hundal isn't a new name in the industry where she has been in an array of TV shows but best remembered for her role in Yeh Hai Mohobbatein. The actor, however, wasn't to be seen on the small screen for over three years but is now back on a TV show with an important role in Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye.

The actor got into an exclusive conversation with India Forums, where we asked her about multiple questions about her character, and why she stayed away from the screen for three years, her views on the web world and if social media is a good alternative for actors or not.

When asked about her character Prisha in the show, she said, "My character Prisha in the show is a practical girl who is a typical Bombay girl. But she dreams to have a lavish life and there is this guy she is attracted to and he is the kind of guy she wants in her life. The reason that is the case is because this is the guy who can provide her what she wants. He is the one who can fulfil all her dreams of that lavish life. She is a negative character and she is here for some twists and turns indeed."

When we are doing TV, as everybody knows, we don't get the opportunities to do other things simultaneously. So, this is my natural process indeed where I take time off from this and do other things be it travelling or doing Punjabi films etc.

When asked about the reason for her staying away from three years, she said, "It is not about staying away as such. This is my natural process. The shows that I have done in the past have run so long that it was only mandatory for me to take a break once that shoe or character ended. But when I say break, it basically means exploring other things. When you constantly do something for three to four years, it is important to explore other facets as well. When we are doing TV, as everybody knows, we don't get the opportunities to do other things simultaneously. So, this is my natural process indeed where I take time off from this and do other things be it travelling or doing Punjabi films etc."

So, does the web world intrigue her, "The web world is definitely very intriguing to me. After this (Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye), I would definitely like to explore the web space because it is another medium, so why not," she said.

Finally, opening up on whether she thinks social media is a good alternative or not, she said, "I don't know if it is a good alternative or not. Because acting is acting, social media has nothing to do with acting in general. It is just that people watch you on-screen and hence you have a benefit that there will be more people who will follow you. But if you are an actor who wants to just act, social media cannot be an alternative for that. Indeed if there is anything you want to promote or talk about, for that - I feel social media is a great platform to interact with fans as well. It is indeed a great platform otherwise for anyone who wants to be out there."
