Since a couple of months, there has been series of ugly spat between television actress Arzoo Govitrikar and her estranged businessman husband, Siddharth Sabharwal. The actress had filed a complaint against her husband on the 19th of February accusing him of physical assault. The FIR was lodged in Dadar Metropolitan Court against businessman Siddharth for allegedly abusing Arzoo in alcohol-fuelled rage.
Along with the complaint, Arzoo also submitted CCTV camera footage of February 15 which shows Siddharth slapping her. In the complaint, it was also mentioned that the couple had a heated argument over Siddharth’s alcohol consumption, shortly after which he dragged her to the bathroom and hit her brutally.
Siddharth was restrained from entering their house as per the magistrate’s order that was passed on 8th May. The businessman has now approached the High Court to challenge this decision of the Metropolitan Court. Since 29th May, Siddharth was living in his sister’s house and even stayed with his friends but now, wants to shift in his own house. He is even ready to pay the rent for Arzoo’s alternative accommodation. Siddharth told the media that all his other properties are on lease and he wants to shift back in his own house.
Hinting towards Siddharth being alcoholic, Arzoo had mentioned that she wants to keep her son away from any person who is in a drunken state, to this Sabharwal mentioned that the actress had allowed her son to go to Gir with him.
Siddharth was booked under the Indian Penal Code Sections 498A (cruelty), 323 (causing hurt), 504 ( insult with the intention to provoke breach of peace), 506 (Criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting woman’s modesty).
