Arjun Kapoor, Jackky Bhagnani, and Mudassar Aziz Injured on 'Mere Husband Ki Biwi' Set Due to Ceiling Collapse

Arjun Kapoor’s upcoming movie, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, faced an unexpected halt after a set accident left several people injured. The incident occurred at the Imperial Palace in Royal Palms, Mumbai, during the shooting of a song sequence. Loud music vibrations reportedly caused the old hall’s ceiling to collapse. While the actor sustained minor injuries, his co-star Jackky Bhagnani and director Mudassar Aziz were also hurt. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported among the cast and crew.

Ashok Dubey, from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), revealed details about the injuries. Arjun suffered wounds on his elbow and head, while a director of photography broke his thumb. Additionally, a camera assistant sustained a spinal injury, although it wasn’t critical. Dubey added that the situation could have been much worse, emphasizing the importance of safety measures on film sets.

We were monitoring the shoot when the ceiling suddenly collapsed. These old locations are often used for shoots. As production companies, we ensure safety checks, but sometimes properties aren’t thoroughly verified.

The first day of the song shoot had gone smoothly, but the second day took a shocking turn. While safety protocols were in place, the property’s structural issues posed unforeseen risks. Ganguly noted, “If the entire roof had fallen, it could have been a disaster.”

Following the accident, Ashok Dubey raised the issue with authorities, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the BMC. He also informed the Fire Department about the unsafe structure. “The property in Chitrakoot had only a 90-day permit, but it remains in use,” he highlighted.
