The past one year has seen endless news articles about the ‘divorce’ of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Though none of them gave any kind of statement, people have been decoding every public gesture or appearances and trying to find a hidden meaning. News reports are full of speculations on what could have gone wrong between Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or the family feud. We also read that Aishwarya left the family home due to constant disagreements with Jaya Bachchan. The Bachchan family has been rather rigid and stoic in the middle of all this. None of them have given any kind of clarification.

It is a known fact that the Bachchan family values its privacy greatly. Amitabh Bachchan wrote in his blog, “It takes immense courage conviction and a sincerity to be different and believe in its presence in life… I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me. Speculations are speculations…they are speculated untruths, without verifications.” Many have urged the family to speak up and clarify matters but none of them did so. We have read rebuttals from family friends like Simi Garewal. He further wrote, “Verifications are sought by the seekers to authenticate their business and commercials of the profession they be in… I shall not challenge their desire to be in the profession of their choice…and I shall appreciate their effort in serving society.”

We can see that he has trolled everyone who puts out speculations about the family. The post seems directed at the tabloid media. Amitabh Bachchan said such speculations when put out in a regular manner can make people believe that what they’re reading is indeed true. He also trolled those who use the question mark after headlines and comments to just get legal protection i.e. prevent themselves from being sued.

He wrote, “But untruths…or selected question marked information can be a legal safeguard for them that inform…but the seed of suspected belief is sown with this most used emblem .. the question mark ..? write express whatever you like .. but when you follow it up with a question mark, you are not only saying that the write may be questionable .. but also quite surreptitiously wanting the reader to believe and expand on it, so that your write gets valued repeats.”
