Today is the eve of our 74th Independence Day, where even though the current scenario of pretty much the entire world along with India is not ideal, the celebration of the day is basically about going to the roots and exhibiting patriotism.
We had some of our most loved actors sharing with us as to how they will be celebrating this year's Independence Day which will be rather differently owing to the pandemic.

Generally, I celebrate it with friends & attend flag hoisting in my building. This year I plan on watching the Independence Day parade on television & quite possibly I shall treat myself to a special Independence Day lunch.

For the first time This Independence Day, I am not pledging to my nation but praying to my nation for justice, as the nature of this great land has been known from its ancient times. The nation needs compassion and humanity for the present and future. We need vision and faith to survive everything and grow above it. May this land imbibe in its people all the values, virtues & capabilities it has in her. Jai Hind & Vande Mataram!
As a kid, I have always cherished watching the flag hoisting ceremony with my family and after so many years I have got this opportunity to relive my childhood memories with my family. To express pride in my nation, this year I have pledged to plant few saplings in the memory of all the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to safeguard our lives and freedom.Jai Hind !

A smile has healing powers, 'Help and Heal' is what I practice. On this occasion, I'll buy a gift for my house-help, watchman or other helpers. Cash may be misused but a gift cannot be. A reminder! Charity begins at home and we don't need a pandemic to help someone. So this Independence Day, I shall work on making my warriors smile.
I’ll be going down in my building for flag hoisting though this year due to COVID it’s not gonna be a grand celebration like always. Even the high tea where all the residents used to meet up for chit chat and group breakfast has been into turned into takeaway boxes.
