Alisha Parveen, who plays Adhyaa on the hit show Anupamaa produced by Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi, reveals that stepping into Adhyaa’s shoes has been more than just a role—it’s been an emotional echo of her own life experiences.
Alisha explains, “ I relate to her in the way that Adhya (the character) has also struggled since her childhood. From the moment she ran away from her home, her journey has been filled with hardships. She has seen a lot of struggle—no food, no home, no safety, nothing. And somehow, she survives. Similarly, my life has been the same, ever since childhood. Both my mother and I, especially my mom, have faced many struggles. She has struggled a lot for me. We have faced so many hardships that sometimes you just end up accepting it. We have truly lived through it in the past. We have seen this.”
She explains how both she and her character prioritize others’ happiness over their own. “She cares more about others’ happiness than her own, like the children at her home or if anyone outside needs help. She thinks about others more than herself. Though there's her banter with her mom i.e. Anupamaa. Except for her mom, she loves everyone equally, so the same goes for me—I like doing something for others before myself. So yes, these are some things that make me feel I can relate to this character. Also, she talks a lot, like really a lot. I, too, sometimes talk a lot. These are a few things that make the character a bit similar to me.”
Not only does Alisha feel a personal connection to Adhyaa’s story, but her youthful on-screen pairing with Shivam Khajuria who is portraying Prem has also created excitement among fans. She expresses, "We are the new pair and it takes time for people to accept us. So initially, people took time to accept us but already we are receiving a lot of love from the audience. We’re already grateful and very blessed that people have given us so much love from the start. Taking a leap is a big change. Everything you've seen for the past four years suddenly changes overnight, so it takes a little time to accept that, but people have done so, and we feel very blessed. Shivam is a very nice guy. I never felt on set like we were working together for the first time. He's a very nice guy, very hardworking, a really good actor, and very supportive. We’ll keep working hard like this. "

Alisha’s excitement extends to working with Directors Kut Productions, a production house she describes as a dream team. She reveals,”It feels like family. I don’t feel like an outsider coming to shoot; in just a few days, I’ve bonded so much with everyone. No one made me feel like I just joined. Everyone has been so helpful and takes care of everything, not just professionally but also personally, making me feel really comfortable, like, 'We’re here for you, don’t worry about anything.' So yes, they are wonderful people. So, I'll give my 100% again, and special thanks to Rajan Sir for trusting me and believing that, yes, I am his Aadhya," she ends.
