Alia Bhatt reveals Raha's name was first discussed by her and Ranbir at Jr. NTR's Hyderabad home

In a recent candid conversation with filmmaker Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt shared a heartwarming story about how she and Ranbir Kapoor first discussed potential baby names during a visit to Jr. NTR's home in Hyderabad. The trio had gathered for a casual dinner after promoting Brahmastra in the city, and it was during that evening that the idea of the name Raha, which they later chose for their daughter, came up.

Alia recalled the warmth of that night, saying, "We had such a lovely evening on Jr. NTR's terrace, eating dinner and chatting. That was the first time we openly discussed baby names. Ranbir mentioned, ‘If it’s a girl, it’ll be this name, and if it’s a boy, it’ll be another.’” When Karan Johar asked if Raha was part of the conversation, Alia confirmed it with a smile. Jr. NTR then added that he had started praying right away, hoping the couple would choose the name Raha.

Both Alia and Jr. NTR reflected on how becoming parents has deeply affected them, both personally and professionally. Jr. NTR shared that the birth of his son Abhay brought a shift in his approach to his career, explaining that it made him realize the importance of finding creatively fulfilling projects. He wanted his work to be worth the time he spent away from his son. Alia echoed this sentiment, saying that after the birth of Raha, she felt transformed. "You’re no longer self-focused," she explained, adding that becoming a mother gave her a new sense of purpose and investment in someone else’s life.

As for their careers, both stars are gearing up for exciting new releases. Alia is preparing for the release of Jigra, a film about the bond between a brother and sister, where she shares acreen with Vedang Raina. Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is set to hit theaters on October 11.

Meanwhile, Jr. NTR's highly anticipated Devara: Part 1 will premiere on September 27. Directed by Koratala Siva, the action-packed film also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, and is expected to be a cinematic marvel.
