Akshay Kumar's critically acclaimed film Sarfira has officially made its way to Disney+ Hotstar, following a successful theatrical run. The film, which released in cinemas worldwide on July 12, 2024, is a Hindi-language remake of the popular Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. Directed by Sudha Kongara, Sarfira brings an inspiring story to the screen, chronicling the journey of a man determined to make air travel affordable for the common people.

Soorarai Pottru, based on G. R. Gopinath’s memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, was a massive hit in Tamil cinema, and the Hindi adaptation has been equally well-received. Produced by 2D Entertainment, Abundantia Entertainment, and Cape Of Good Films, Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Radhika Madan in lead roles. The film focuses on a man’s relentless quest to start a low-cost airline, despite facing numerous challenges from rivals and the system.
