Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage was a matter of speculation for three long years. Recently, the rumours died down after seeing videos of them at family weddings and at the airport. It was said that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had left her home in Jalsa, Juhu and moved back to her mother’s in Bandra. Her long-time friend and mentor Prahlad Kakkar who directed her in her iconic Pepsi ad said such news was just ‘journalistic garbage’. He said the couple had way too much class than react on such stupid news about their relationship.

He confirmed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s mother Vrinda Rai was really unwell for some time. It was more than a year. She lives with her son and his family. Prahlad Kakkar said Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a very devoted daughter and came down daily to see her mother. He said she would drop her daughter Aaradhya at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, come home to her mother, pick up her kid and go home. “She had three hours to kill in between. She would spend it with her mother. Aishwarya did not shift to her mom’s place,” he said. Prahlad Kakkar said he never asked her about the rumours as he knew it was ‘journalistic garbage’.

Kakkar said even Abhishek Bachchan and his sister Shweta have paid visits to Vrinda Rai when she was unwell. “Aishwarya Rai is a member of the Bachchan household. She is their bahu. Also, Aishwarya takes care of the home. The couple are too dignified to answer such rubbish gossip,” asserted Prahlad Kakkar.
