Aditya Narayan calls fatherhood the best phase of his life, reveals what has changed in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa too

Aditya Narayan, who will be seen getting back as a host with Zee TV's popular reality show' Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' got in an exclusive conversation with us and spilled some beans on his return to television as a host. Aditya also spoke about striking a balance between work and his personal life and how he has been enjoying his time off with his daughter, wife and dogs. 

How does it feel to be associated with the same brand once again?

Well, it feels really good to be associated with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa all over again. 

People have loved you as a host, and now that you're back at it, how does it feel?

It feels good. I have taken a breather from television from after a while. I wasn't shooting for a good four months now, So honestly, I also enjoyed the time off from the shoots. Got to spend a lot of time with my daughter and my wife and my parents and my dogs too. For me it is as important as working. I said no to a couple of shows. That is how it is. You have to pick and choose. I'm always happy doing Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. The talent always inspires me. It's always like working with friends and family, so it's a lovely experience. This season is also not too intense. I think it's a short season. We start in September, we end in November. Things are fresh.

Talking about changes again, Aditya, what is that one thing, according to you, that has changed on the show? 

It keeps evolving. I mean, things keep evolving. Time changes, you know. There's always revolution. I feel like giving one of the contestants their own original song, even before the season ends, was a wonderful step. I was one of the people to suggest it on the show. It's a huge deal to be getting an original song that will be on Zee Music. It takes people years to get this opportunity. So that's something that I'm very excited about. From whatever conversations I've had with the contestants so far, they are also very excited. I feel like they are as excited this time to win the show as they are to get the original song, which is great. You're kind of winning two prizes at once.

How has the journey of fatherhood been coming along?

It has been lovely. It has changed me a lot. It's amazing like this is the best phase of my life. I'm really enjoying spending time with my daughter and my wife and my parents and my family, my dogs for that matter. You know, it's essential, I don't know about other people. I see a lot of people who live a very one-dimensional life. You know, they're working all the time, and their excuse for working all the time is, 'Abhi mera time hai, kya pata kal ho na ho.' The attitude that they have, I don't. I have faith in my art. I have faith in what I do and how I do it. And you can work according to your terms and conditions beyond a certain point of time in life. Of course, everything can't be the way you want it to be. But I am at that point in my life where most of the things are the way I wanted them to be, and people are happy to accommodate my time and schedule. Today, everything is professional. When I started doing television, we used to shoot for 16/17/18/20 hours today. Now, there are all these unions and rules that are mentioned. Now, I shoot one day a week. I have to dedicate between 12 to 14 hours a week to a show like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, which is quite manageable for me. I'm excited to take up this opportunity this time.
