Aditya Lakhia pleased to be part of Agle Janam..

Aditya Lakhia, popularly known as Kachra of Lagaan fame essays the role of the protagonist Laali's father in Swastik Pictures' new show on Zee TV, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo.

The family is from a low cast background and by profession are rat killers or 'Musahars' who help the Zamindars to protect their land and homes from infestation. And Aditya Lakhia plays the father who scrapes thro' a small income to support the family.

However, to begin with, Aditya was apprehensive to take up the role and it took a round or two of talking for Siddharth Tewary of Swastik Pictures to convince the actor.

Says Siddharth, "We met Aditya and talked to him about the script. He was initially bit apprehensive about coming in TV but then even Deepak Tijori, who is my dear friend, had a word with him. I told Aditya that the day he feels uncomfortable with his character in the show, he is all free to leave it. But I have assured him that this is a wonderful show and a strong character of a father that has never been shown on Indian television".

Well, today Aditya is a happy man as he feels he is part of a great concept. The actor is all praise for Siddharth as he says, "I personally liked the way the producers are dealing with this concept. When Siddharth approached me, he was very much convinced that this role would suit my character. Even though it took some time for me to accept the role, I am grateful to Siddharth for convincing me (Smiles)".

"Agle Janam is a great concept and has a very good script. The location is fabulous and we are working very hard to make it a success", adds Aditya.

Acknowledging the actor's great work is Siddharth who says, "Aditya has worked hard for it and all I can say is that he is dedicated to his work. He had to do the rat chasing sequences in bare foot, and he did that remarkably well. Hats off to his enthusiasm!!".

Well, this seems to be a great actor-producer bonding, and we hope the combination really clicks with the viewers!!
