Adah Sharma claims 'The Kerala Story' becomes first female-led film to cross 200 Cr

The Kerala Story, a film that fearlessly explores the complex themes of religious conversions and ISIS, has been at the centre of intense controversies even before its release. However, despite bans and protests, the film has emerged as a resounding success at the box office.

In a groundbreaking achievement, Adah Sharma, one of the lead actresses in The Kerala Story, proudly proclaimed that the film had become the first female-led project to surpass the remarkable milestone of crossing the Rs 200-crore mark in India. 

Taking to her Instagram account, Adah shared a heartfelt note of gratitude, celebrating the unexpected triumph. Despite the turbulent circumstances surrounding its release, The Kerala Story hit theatres on May 5. A few weeks later, on May 22, the film achieved an astounding feat by joining the exclusive Rs 200-crore club.
