Abhishek Banerjee Reminisces College Days, Recalls Teacher Teasing Him By Calling 'Deewar ka Amitabh'

Abhishek Banerjee, known for hits like the Stree series, Paatal Lok, and Bhediya, has truly made a mark in households lately. Abhishek, who starred in Stree 2 alongside Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor this month, openly professes his deep admiration for Amitabh Bachchan. The actor's dream came true as he collaborated with Big B in the upcoming film, Section 84. Abhishek fondly reminisced about his college days when his teachers affectionately dubbed him "Deewar ka Amitabh."

In a recent chat with Sucharita Tyagi on her YouTube channel, Abhishek Banerjee emphasized his status as the ultimate Amitabh Bachchan fan and revealed that his admiration for the legendary actor was the reason he enrolled in college. Abhishek proudly declared himself as the "OG Bachchan fan," distinguishing himself from others who claim to be fans of Mr. Bachchan.

"Meri chaal wesi thi. Mujhe teachers bolte the ki 'bhai tu kya hai Deewar ka Amitabh bane ghum raha hai' (My body language was like his. My teachers used to call me Deewar's Amitabh")" he continued.

In a PTI interview, Abhishek Banerjee revealed capturing Amitabh Bachchan's arrival on the Section 84 set. Abhishek mentioned he recorded the moment to etch it in his memory forever. The Paatal Lok star expressed that Big B's walk transported him to the megastar's golden era, evoking nostalgia from his prime years.

Abhishek Banerjee just pinned his 2023 post on Instagram, showcasing a picture with none other than Amitabh Bachchan. In the photo, Abhishek sported a smile while standing beside the 81-year-old megastar. The Stree actor reflected on his time working with Big B in Section 84, expressing that the experience was akin to attending an acting masterclass.

"I learnt so many important life lessons just by spending few days on set with you sir...and finally I can say I went to an acting school (sic)," read his post from last year.

Besides Stree 2, Abhishek Banerjee was also part of Vedaa, alongside John Abraham. Both movies hit the screens on August 15, marking Independence Day this year.
