You may forget the film, the performance, the songs or the actor, but you most probably will never forget that one line that stood out above all. Dialogues undoubtedly contribute a lot to a film. They add an impact that almost carries the film before it even hits the theatres, and that's why BollyCurry presents to you the 'Top 10 Dialogues of 2012'!
As soon as promos came out, this dialogue became a hit. The notorious Chulbul Pandey is back! Dabangg 2 may
not have hit theaters yet, and it may or may not become a BO hit like
its predecessor, but this dialogue has definitely become a hit!
"When elders get cozy, younger don't put nosy" or "My chest has become blouse". - Ajay Devgn, Bol Bachchan
Despite
not having been the biggest hit of the century, the rib-tickling
dialogues won the hearts of many, particularly the ones delivered by
Ajay Devgn. Whether the dialogues were purposefully created this way to
incite laughter from the audience or it was because Prithviraj used a
translator to put them together due to his lack of knowledge of the
English language, you decide! Either way, the dialogues are definitely
unforgettable.
"Pura naam, Vijay Dinanth Chauhan, baap ka naam, Dinanth Chauhan, ma aka naam, Suhanisini Chauhan, gaon Mandwa." - Hrithik Roshan, Agneepath(2012)
This
is one of those evergreen dialogues belonging to the one and only
Amitabh Bachchan that lingers on the tip of everyone's tongue. This
year, viewers got the chance to watch heartthrob Hrithik Roshan in the Agneepath remake deliver the very same line on the big screen, and what a delivery it was!
"Tum kya leke aaye the, aur kya leke jaaoge. Reh jaye sirf ek insaan, sarva shakthi shali, sarva shaktimaan...KANCHA!" - Sanjay Dutt, Agneepath(2012)
Agneepath also
re-introduced us to the larger than life villain once again. Sanjay
Dutt, as Kancha Cheena, terrorized, terrified, and stole the show with
his polished performance of the antagonist. His most famous dialogue
from the movie was uttered by many viewers long after the last showing,
making Kancha one of the most liked villains ever. Though how that
contradiction happens is beyond us.
"Jo main bolta hoon, woh main karta hoon. Aur jo main nahi bolta hoon, woh main definitely karta hoon." - Akshay Kumar, Rowdy Rathore
Our very funny Rowdy Rathore,
Akshay Kumar, stole the show with his comic antics and hilarious
entries. So what is it that made this line so significant, you might
ask? It was the very fact that Rowdy Rathore did a fabulous job of
following through with that dialogue in the movie.
"Don't angry me!" - Akshay Kumar, Rowdy Rathore
Another Rowdy Rathore dialogue
that could be heard anywhere and everywhere from the icy north of
Canada, to the blistering heat of South Africa, to the narrow alleys of
India. An easy-to-say dialogue and adaptable to everyday conversations,
this line can be uttered to anyone, especially when you don't want to be
disturbed.
"Akad ki bhi aukaat hoti hai." - Varun Dhawan, Student of the Year
We've
heard of the word 'status' used regularly in Bollywood but it's always
been revolved around 'social status', never 'akad ki status'. A unique
and fresh dialogue to welcome a fresh face into the world of Bollywood,
Varun Dhawan! Perhaps for the next few years, this will be the hot new
line in Bollywood movies.
"Jis mohabbat main deewangi naa ho, woh mohabbat hi nahi." - Salman Khan, Ek Tha Tiger
A moment of nostalgia as we reminisce over the old YRF romantic movies of the 90s century. Salman makes the list once more for Ek Tha Tiger.
One of the biggest blockbusters of the year, the movie had many
memorable dialogues but this would have to be the best out of them all.
Afterall, a YRF film is incomplete without such a passionate dialogue
about the age old concept of love in Bollywood movies.
"Maine sirf insaan banaye. Aur insaan ne yeh jaat, paat, dharm, mazhab ka dhanda shuru kiya." - Akshay Kumar, Oh My God!
In
the midst of the comic relief moments and passionate love stories,
Bollywood delivers to us many insightful pieces. This dialogue being one
of them, delivered by the Khiladi of Tinsel Town, Akshay Kumar. Not
only the dialogue, the entire film, laced with thought provoking
lessons, was insightful.
"Dosti karne ki galti toh kar li hai maine, toh ab dushmani karne ka mauka bhi nahin jaane doonga main." - Varun Dhawan, Student of the Year
Instead
of hatred to love, this is the opposite case of love to hatred, even
though Varun Dhawan speaks of friendship and not love. Student Of The Year seemed to have a basket of fresh and new dialogues for the viewers with a touch of Bollywood which made them all favorites!
And
that's a wrap! Whilst these dialogues inscribe itself into the depths
of your memory, why not let us know which is your favourite. In the
meantime, BollyCurry wishes all its readers a very happy New Year and
hopefully we'll see some great dialogues in the coming year as well.
