'2 States' actor Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passes away
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, a well-known actor, and award-winning screenwriter, recognized for his role as Alia Bhatt's father in 2 States passes away on Sunday night.

The week has officially started on a depressing note. Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, a well-known actor, and award-winning screenwriter took his last breath in the city on Sunday night, April 10th. The 2 States actor, was recognised for his commanding on-screen presence and featured in a number of Hindi films.
While the exact circumstances of his death are unknown, filmmaker Hansal Mehta released a statement on social media. The remark also included information about the memorial service, which is scheduled to take place in the city on Monday morning.

The statement announcing Shiv Subramaniam's departure read,

Incredibly talented, he was much loved and revered personally as well as professionally. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Divya, her mum, dad, Rohan, Rinky, and family; Bhanu chitti and all of Shiv's family; and his huge legion of friends and fans. Kindly note, the funeral will leave from Shishira, Yamuna Nagar, Lokhandwala Back road, Andheri west."
Shiv Subramaniam was most recently observed with Sanya Malhotra in the Netflix family drama Meenakshi Sundareshwar. Another of his most noteworthy recent performances was in 2 States, where he played Alia Bhatt's onscreen father. His performance as a dementia patient in Tu Hai Mera Sunday was also well appreciated and commended. And on the small screen, he played the lead in one of the ambitious projects in the form of Mukti Bandhan.
Shiv Subramaniam was a well-known screenwriter in addition to his acting career. He frequently collaborated with filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and he co-wrote the screenplays for films such as Parinda, 1942 A Love Story, and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi with Sudhir Mishra.
