Before this cop-genre film came into fashion in Indian cinema, it was Salman Khan who revived the genre in the industry and among the masses with his flick 'Dabangg' in which he played the iconic character of Chulbul Pandey. The film, released in 2010, has completed thirteen years of release today, and upon its release, it brought a tsunami at the box office and has become the highest opener of all time across India. The genre of cop actioners was properly utilized in Dabangg, which changed that scenario and succeeded at the ticket window. Following the release of Dabangg, Bollywood saw many filmmakers and actors come out with cop character-based films, which include Singham, Rowdy Rathore, Simmba, Sooryavanshi, and many more.

Among them, it won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. It was given six awards at the 56th Filmfare Awards, including one for Best Film, seven Screen Awards, nine Zee Cine Awards, and ten IIFA Awards.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan who was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is gearing up for the release of the third installment of his most loved franchise Tiger 3. The film will be releasing in worldwide cinemas on 10th November 2023.
