Reliving memories is indeed the most blissful thing for one to do, especially when it concerns one's childhood. And all of us 90s kids have been fortunate to experience some of the best times, specifically pertaining to pop culture.
And one just cannot forget the amazing animated cartoons we have grown up seeing. From 'Tom and Jerry' to 'Popeye The Sailor', we cherish every bit of it. One such rage back in the early 2000s was the cartoon series, 'Pokemon'.
Ash Ketchum's road to being a Pokemon master, his friendship with Brock and Misti and of course, all of us getting immensely awed by the most loved and adored Pokemon, Pikachu; those are some unforgettable days.

Fast-forward to 2016, we are revisiting childhood again,as the fever of the game 'Pokemon Go' has gripped the entire world in no time. And with time passing by, it keeps getting better and better.

In the quirkiest of thoughts, we wondered which Indian TV characters would be apt representations of respective pokemons. A Pokemon has its distinct traits and powers and so do our on-screen characters. Let's have a look at who fits where-

Disclaimer- It's the manner of the character we have taken into consideration and not the actor in his/her real life.

Shivanya (Mouni Roy) from 'Naagin' as Bulbasaur

Be it her killer eyes or her deceiving good looks, Shivanya as Bulbasaur makes an apt fit. One of Bulbasaur's special power is to overgrow, which is also vested with the most loved Naagin on Indian television. Traits like loyalty, sacrifice, love, care, along with being fiery and brutal whenever needed is what Shivanya and Bulbasaur share.

Tanu (Leena Jumani) from 'Kumkum Bhagya' as Meowth

Who could be a better Meowth than Tanu from 'Kumkum Bhagya'. Meowth, along with Jesse and James formed Team Rocket and kept plotting several tricks to owerpower Ash, Brock and Misti. We all know the infinite number of plots Tanu has already exercised on Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) along with Aaliya and Nikhil. Bitchy, mastermind and powerful; that's what makes them so similar. And of course, how can we forget, 'catty' (pun intended).

Saurabh Dada (Alpesh Dhakan) from 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' as Snorlax

While the viewers enjoy the brewing romance between Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes), one cannot miss the adorable Saurabh Dada in the show. He is struggling to find himself an encouragement to be something in life; hogging on food and enjoying his sleep in the meantime. Snorlax is literally derived from the combination of words, 'snore' and 'relax', that goes without explaination I guess?
Shravan (Namik Paul) from 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste' as Machamp

He manages to get the ladies drooling with his chiselled physique, dashing personality and an innocent face. We aren't just talking about Namik in person, but also Shravan in the show. Shravan, as we know is a mellow person but can unleash his macho side as and when needed. A heroic physiqueand raw power with a gentle side makes Shravan to be the perfect Machamp.
Nandini (Niti Taylor) from 'Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan' as Jigglypuff

A cute, petite belle, who is sensitive and delicate - Nandini is loved by one and all. Her ability to love and care made her adorable and impossible to forget. So, is the tiny pokemon, jigglypuff. And of course, how can I forget Nandini being an amazing singer where Jigglypuff just wouldn't leave the mic, singing jiiiggglyyypuff, jigglypuff'!

Tanushree aka Tanu (Kratika Sengar) from 'Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki' as Psyduck

The innocent and sacrificing Tanu always manages to stay clueless about several things. Be it the plotting against her enemies, or expressing the feelings she has for Rishi (Ssharad Malhotra), Tanu has always been confused about it. Who else can be more confused than Psyduck?

Sesha (Adaa Khan) from 'Naagin' as Primape

Sesha had so many shades as naagin, from love and care, she went to being vicious, jealous and the one who betrayed. However, one key aspect that cannot be forgotten is that she may look petite or 'not-so-dangerous', but her anger made her maximise the powers and become a lethal force to reckon with. Similarly, Primape may not look dangerous or vicious, but we all know how capable it is to pose danger.

Harman Singh (Vivian Dsena) from 'Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii' as Charizard

Harman Singh is an outspoken, fiery guy, who does things his way. He doesn't like to be told what to do and the hot-headed man also has a soft heart when he watches Soumya (Rubina Dilaik). And we all remember, how Charizard, one of the most powerful pokemons would do what he wants to when angry, but has a soft corner and love-hate relationship with Ash.
Rajni (Ridhima Pandit) from 'Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant' as Pikachu

We know you have been waiting for this one. And it was tough to choose. However, the adorable Rajni - the Robot seems an apt fit for the most loved pokemon of all time, Pikachu. Rajni can be the cutest when needed and a powerful force when needed along with being loyal to her master, Shaan (Karan V Grover). It all just fits, right? The loved, adored and loyal Pikachu and Rajni are a match made in heaven.

And a twist..

Ekta Kapoor as Arecus

Well, this one had to be anexceptionfrom the others as the producer honcho and soap queen, Ekta Kapoor doesn't need a character to be on this list. She is the creator of several careers and the reason forrevolutionizingIndian television. And, Arecus, also known as 'The Original One' is the creator of the whole pokemon universe. All hail!
