Malvika was having sleepless nights. Yes she had kissed Ishaan at the resort in a drunken hysterical state, but it felt good. It was not like she was kissing him for the 1st time but this time around it was different because she was the one who initiated it.

Malvika had called him home so that she could speak to him about their relationship. She wanted to tell him that she loves him like crazy.

"Mujhe nahin pata yeh relationship hum donno ko kahaan tak le jayegi. But 1 thing that I am sure about is that I still love Ishaan a lot."

Malvika's trail of thoughts was broken when the door bell rang. She got up to open the door and beamed when she saw Ishaan.

"Lagta hai mera hi wait ho raha tha." Ishaan smiled as he entered. Malvika's living room looked different. She had put their pictures back on the wall.

"Haan. Tum baitho main aati hoon." Malvika took him by the hand and made him sit and then moved towards the kitchen.

"Will you have some wine?" She got them two glasses filled with red wine. Although she preferred white but Ishaan loved red wine and today she didn't mind going with his preference.

"Malvika sab theek toh hai na? Tumne mujhe message kiya that you wanted to speak to me? I got worried but tum yeh wine aur yeh sab."

Ishaan was interrupted by Malvika when she planted a light peck on his lips.

"Tumhare yeh jo lips hai na bahut bolte hai." She took the wine glass from his hand and hugged him.

"Ishaan kal Jo maine tumse kahaan tha have you thought about it?"

"Malvika main bahut confused hoon. Iss baar agar tumne mujhe chodh diya toh main bikhaar jaunga. Mera dil toot jaayega."

"Nahin tootne doongi tumhare dil ko Ishaan."

Malvika moved closer to him and hugged him while resting her head on his shoulder. She just wanted to assure him that she will not break his heart and that she loved him like crazy.

At Life Beat Hospital

"Hi I am doctor Mihika Singh. I have an appointment with Dr. Sinha."

Aaliya turned towards the voice. It was very familiar.

"Miku?" Aaliya shrieked when she saw the person.

"Aaloo?" Mihika turned towards her favourite senior.

Aaliya and Mihika were meeting after a very long time. Aaliya was her senior in medical college and they were room mates too at the hostel. Aaliya moved out after graduating and they lost contact.

The receptionist interrupted their reunion. "Dr. Singh aapko Dr. Sinha ne apne cabin mein bulaya hai."

"Ok thanks. Aaliya main Dr. Sinha se milke aati hoon."

"Haan haan koi nahin. Ab toh tu yahan intern hai. Aur hamare pass catch up karne ke liye bahut time bhi hai." Aaliya hugged Mihika.

Mihika started walking towards Dr. Sinha's cabin when she stopped in front of the sign board that had the names of all of the doctors at Life Beat hospital.

"Welcome to Life Beat Hospital Dr. Mihika."

Mihika spoke to herself as she beamed with joy. After all it was her 1st day as an intern and her dream is finally coming true.

Chapter 2:

"May I come in?"

"Yes please." Dr. Sinha was sifting through some files when Mihika entered. He motioned her to sit down.

"Dr. Singh so good to have you on board. Aapka internship aaj se hi shuru hota hai. Aap Dr. Malvika Seth ko assist aur report karengi. Unfortunately she has left for the day so I will ask Dr. Aaliya Akhtar to show you around." Dr. Sinha smiled as he picked up the phone to call Aaliya.

"Dr. Aaliya, will you please come to my cabin?"

Aaliya was trying to call Ishaan when she got a call from Dr. Sinha asking her to come to his cabin immediately. Aaliya kept on walking to his cabin mindlessly while she remembered what Ishaan had told her earlier today.

Flashback:

"We kissed. I dont know woh sahi tha ya galat, but we kissed."

Aaliya stopped in front of Dr. Sinha's cabin and that is when she gathered herself and her thoughts.

"Aaliya relax! Take a deep breath! Phew." Aaliya pepped her self up and knocked on Dr. Sinha's cabin door.

"Come in."

Aaliya walked in and saw Mihika sitting in a chair looking at her intently.

"Dr. Aaliya, meet Dr. Mihika Singh. She starts her internship with us today and will be assisting and reporting in to Dr. Malvika."

"Hi Mihika. Welcome to Life Beat. Actually Dr main Mihika ko kafi time se jaanti hoon. We were in the same medical college."

"Then thats absolutely perfect. Aaliya you can start with showing Mihika around and then get all her paper work and formalities done. Kal jab Malvika aayegi she will brief her on what has to be done. Also I will message her that Dr. Mihika has joined our team from today." Dr. Sinha smiled as he typed out a message.

At Malvika's place:

"Ishaan maine tumhare liye apne closet mein, apne ghar mein aur apne zindagi mein jagah bana li hai. You please take your time. but all that I am saying is that we should give our relationship one more chance."

"'Shayad tum sahi kahe rahi ho. Sach toh yeh hai ki main bhi tumse bahut pyaar karta hoon." Ishaan pulled Malvika towards him in a tight hug and thats when Malvika's cellphone beeped.

Malvika opened the message from Dr Sinha.

"Dr. Mihika Singh has joined the team starting today. Please speak to her tomorrow and brief her on her duties."

"Dr. Mihika Singh. Interesting." Malvika thought to herself as she kept her phone aside and hugged Ishaan back.

At Life Beat Hospital

"Aur yeh hai Mums Mera matlab hai Mariyam. Life Beat ki heart beat."

Aaliyah introduced Mihika to Mariyam. Mihika smiled and extended her hand towards Mums.

"Hello Mums"

"Welcome to Life Beat Doctor."

"Aap mujhe Mihika bula sakti hai."

"Mihika we need to get some papers signed. Formalities and all. Kal jab Dr. Malvika aa jayegi toh hum sab ki band baj jayegi if your paperwork is not in place."

Mihika was amused. "Really? Woh itni strict hai?"

Aaliya literally pulled her. "Haan beta jab tum milogi tab pata chalega. You should be happy ki woh tumhare first day pe yahaan nahin hai. Mere first day pe toh mujhe nikal hi diya tha. Well almost."

Aaliya looked terrified as she recalled her first day at Life Beat.

"Ok relax aisa kuch nahin hoga." Mihika smiled and waved a goodbye to Mariyam as Aaliya pulled her towards the canteen.

"Pata nahin ab kal Kya hoga. Pehle toh sirf Aaliya Thi aur ab Mihika bhi."

Mariyam looked a little hassled.

Chapter 4

Malvika had her back towards Mihika and Aaliya.

"What were you thinking when you decided to treat the minor without the consent of her legal guardians?"

"Dr. Malvika woh uss ladki ko sir pe bahut gehri chot lagi..." Aaliya was cut off mid sentence by Malvika

"Dr. Singh. Life Beat join karne se pehle aap ne induction documents theek se nahin pade? Or maybe even you believe in breaking rules like Dr. Aaliya?"

Ishaan decided to butt in,"Malvika it's her first day. I am sure she has some strong reason to behave that way."

"Ishaan I am all ears. So Dr. Singh what is your reason?" Malvika turned towards Mihika.

"Ma'am the girl was bleeding and she was on the road right in front of my car. Mujhe laga we should get her to Life Beat. Maine uski mom ko tak inform karr diya tha but she didn't turn up."

"Yes Dr. Malvika that is when we decided ki iss waqt we need to attend to the girls injury and maybe her mother is stuck up somewhere and she will be reaching soon." Aaliya completed the sentence.

Malvika was visibly upset as Aaliya spoke on behalf of Mihika.

"Dr. Aaliya speak when you are asked to. I guess Dr. Mihika can speak for herself and she doesn't need an advocate."

"I am sorry ma'am." Mihika could just about utter the words.

"The damage has been done. However I have informed the police. They are trying to trace the girls parents. Unka maanna hai ki shayad iss sab mein kissi parivaar ke sadasya ka haath hai." Malvika motioned Ishaan to speak.

"I am handling the case with Malvika. I will be counselling her and she will be under my observation."

"And you two will stay away from this case." Malvika sat down in her chair.

Mihika, Ishaan and Aaliya all moved towards the door to leave when Malvika spoke.

"Dr. Singh please stay back. I need to speak to you."

Ishaan and Aaliya left leaving Mihika behind.

In the canteen:

"Ishaan I hope Malvika Mihika ko suspend na karde." Aaliya gulped down the glass of cold water kept in front of her.

"Malvika Mihika ke saath aisa kuch nahin karegi."

"Tum itne confidently kaise keh sakte ho?"

"Just. Accha KD is organising another offsite. He is planning to introduce some new Dr. there."

"Firse offsite? Ab yeh kab hai?" Aaliya slumped in her chair.

"Next week. I think Sunday. He is planning some team building exercise."

"We clearly need it." Aaliya had a smirk on her face.

In Malvika's cabin:

"Dr. Singh I hope you have met everyone. You will be assisting me from tomorrow. I want you to be a part of all the surgeries."

"Yes ma'am."

"Good. Aur ek aur baat. Jo aaj hua hai woh firse repeat nahin hona chahiye." Malvika opened a file while speaking to Mihika.

"Ok ma'am."

"Now please get back to your duties."

Mihika walked out of Malvika's cabin closing the door behind.

Malvika looked up after Mihika shut the door and kept the file aside.

In the canteen:

Sahil had joined Ishaan and Aaliya.

"I think I love KD. Ek aur offsite! How cool." Sahil spoke as he stuffed his mouth with a piece of sandwich.

Mihika walked up to the table where Ishaan, Aaliya and Sahil were sitting.

"Hi guys! I am back!" Mihika pulled a chair and plonked herself.

"Tum theek toh ho na?" Aaliya spoke as she pushed the plate of sandwiches in front of Mihika.

"Yaa how do I look?" Mihika picked up a sandwich.

"I am sure it was not that bad." Ishaan spoke as he smiled.

"Yup. She just let me off with a warning." Mihika spoke as she rolled her eyes.

"Wow that's awesome. So how does your day look?" Aaliya asked with a glint in her eyes.

"Aaj toh kuch kaam nahin hai. I might have to assist Dr. Malvika with a surgery. But she will inform me."

"Party karne chale? What say guys? Ishaan? Sahil?"

Ishaan spoke, "Lets go. There is this new place round the corner. We can catch up over a few drinks."

"Done!" Mihika, Aaliya and Sahil spoke in unison.
