As i walk down the street , i feel eyes gazing at me .. they pierce me through and through. As i try to cover up myself with another jacket , still, i feel so exposed. I look around .There are people walking , a few are women and girls just like me who look down on the ground and walk.
Those mouths which open to talk , speak of women as objects, objects of use.. They pass comments as we walk past them. A few of them even whistle..
As i walk , a few touch my hand and go, my voice stuck in my throat , i don't speak a word.. to others it may feel just brush of two arms in the hustle bustle , but I , only I, or all women to be precise , know which touch is offending and which not, even if its just a brush of two arms..
In a world where women have reached the moon and even climbed to the summit of Mt Everest, yet why ? why do they look at us in a demeaning manner? will they look at their mothers too in such a way? Do women carry kids in their womb for 9 months to see this day , to see their sons belittle a woman in public or when alone? Do we tie rakhis on our brothers wrist to see them behave like perv with other women? of course not !
The world has progressed rapidly but are we women free? we have the rights but are they implimented? right to freedom and equality .. where is it ? are we free and equal in this male dominated world?
we need a world , a friendly world.. a world free of crude and degrading behavior, a world where women and men are equal and where neither are exploited...
As i walk down the street Today , empowered, those who look at me in a way so ridiculous, i look at them , in their eye, my eyes having glow and fire , they unable to bear my gaze, lower their eyes...and their heads hung low with shame..
Today, as i walk down the street, as his hand brushes with mine , i feel and know its not a good sign , this time not for me but for him. I catch his hand , turn towards him and slap him tight..
The crowd stops and looks at me , my eyes gleaming with anger but also pride as i take a stand..
That guy runs away and the crowd smiles a little . A guy shows me thumbs up and i walk again to my destination . Now , i am free.
NOTE : guys , i would like to say that this OS does not mean to show that men are bad...( you see, the guy who shows thumbs up isn't bad 😃) though not all are good either...
This is a girl's point of view , I hope you poeple understand . 😃
Thanks .
