Can't say Amba is wrong this time... She's right as a mother... Mannu shouldn't have taken Preet to an unknown place like that! It is wrong...

Chapter 11

At the Pava House: -

" Seriously Veerji couldn't you come up with anything better? Cause of you Manu will be in trouble." Lakhan scolded his brother.

"Oh, Really? Then why didn't you come up with some other excuse."Tej argued, his lips curved into a snarl

"Cause, he trusts you more than me" Lakhan stated in a matter of fact tone.

Tej sharply turned around and glowered at his brother. "He would have also trusted you if you weren't so reckless." Tej remarked, pointing a finger at Lakhan "You never listen to him. You always busy playing that damn flute."

Lakhan groaned. Renting out an annoyed sigh, he said"Seriously now where did my flute came in between all this. If anything happens, you only know to blame on my poor flute. " Lakhan shook his head dejectedly before glaring at his brother. " You never admit your mistake. Even before I took up wrestling and even before Father created this new schedule for me I used to help you. I rarely played the flute"

Tej just huffed and stormed upstairs towards his room

"This time is your fault. You know father would have believed anything that you said blindly, yet you didn't help."Lakhan yelled at Tej "You know how Amba Aunty. You not only put our friend, but you too put our sister in trouble"

"You know what? I don't care!." Tej shouted back, slamming shut the doorway of his room. Lakhan let out another sigh. At the moment talking to his brother won't take him anywhere.

Softly, he headed towards the kitchen to help himself with a cup of coffee. He had to keep an eye on the Bajwa Haveli tonight. The Bajwa were quite calm, even after the announcement of Gunjan marriage. Even Mohini didn't take any action to end the engagement, which was quite fishy. She wasn't the one to take things calmly. Gunjan marriage with Aman meant defeat to her, and she never accepted her defeat. Reaching the kitchen, Lakhan took out the necessary ingredients he needed to prepare the coffee.

"Devar Ji, what are you doing here at this hour." Lakhans' rather overweight Parchai asked him.

" Making coffee." Lakhan said smoothly.

At that, his Parchai eyes widen in shock " You could have just asked me. Why bother yourself?"

Lakhan poured the milk in a small vessel "Nah! It's ok, Parchai. I like to do it myself." He said gently, placing the vessel on the stove turning it on. Lakhan was still shocked as how did his brother readily agreed to this marriage. Not like he dislike this relation or his parchai. Supreet was a very kind and loving lady. She was an excellent cook, she cleaned and kept the house spick and span. Not only that she had a good sense of humour. She has surprisingly never questioned his interest in music or made fun of it. She was fun to be with and Lakhan really enjoyed her company. She was alike a second mother to him and overall a perfect life partner for his brother The thing is that he didn't think Tej would like this Rishta. The woman was quite overweight, and Tej was completely opposite of her. Tall, strong, handsome, girls of their pind swooned at him. Besides, his brother was quite a nostalgic person, like his father. Lakhan could see why his mother choose Supreet. She would take good care of Tej rather than the other girls of his pind, who simply loved him for his looks.

" You haven't yet had your supper" Supreet complained.

" I'm not feeling hungry," he muttered, turning off the stove. He poured the milk in a mug in which he had added coffee mix and sugar before hand.

"First have your supper, then drink that," Supreet said sternly snatching the mug out from him." You skipped your breakfast this morning. I didn't say anything as you were already late for your college. But this time I'm not going to listen to any of your excuses. Lakhan shrugged and sat along the table as Supreet served him food. 'I guess Veerji just compiled to Ma wishes, he is not exactly happy with this rishta' Lakhan mused.

At the Pahujas House :-

"Got it" Manu exclaimed as he hopped of the chair, startling Preet. Before Preet could question him, Manu ran out of the room without any explanation. Preet gaped, staring at the doorway. Moments ago, he was worried and now. Preet shrugged and went to bathroom to fresh up. Minutes later, Manu came back in the room.

" You can stay in Nehas room tonight."Manu gleefully informed Preet.

"Really?" Preet queried.

"Yes. I talked to Mrs. Pahuja and convinced her that Neha is scared to sleep alone in a new place."

" That's wonderful!" Preet cheered happily and set about to pack her stuff. Manu chuckled,'She is just like a kid' he thought fondly. Preet covered her face with a veil and went to Neha room, not before thanking Manu. Manu couldn't help but grin. At least she can relax now. And since that is done, Manu frowned 'Now let's check on the Pahuja and see what they are exactly plotting against my family.'

At the Pava House :-

Supreet carefully stepped inside her room, with the tray in her hand. She smiled at her husband who was sitting on the table looking over a file. "Ji" She called out.

"Hm.. What is it?" Tej asked, yet looking at his file.
"I brought, dinner for you."

Tej sighed and laid the file back with other files. " You could have just called me." Tej sighed, walking towards his wife and took the tray from her hand "I would have come down stairs"

" But DevarJi said your busy. So I brought dinner upstairs" Supreet said smiling lovingly at Tej

"That Idiot" Tej grumbled placing The tray on the table.

Supreet, looked at the huge stack of files set on the table. She then looked back at Tej who was again working on the same file. Supreet was about to say something but held back.

Tej looked up at Supreet who was still standing beside him, patiently."You want to say something?"

Supreet nodded"Yes, that..." she fumbled "I wanted to ask that... Will you please ask Papa Ji to reduce some work from Devar Ji schedule" Tej arched an eyebrow, giving Supreet an amused expression. "I mean. Please don't get me wrong." Supreet suddenly blurted out. "I didn't intend to say that PapaJi is putting too much work on him, it's just that Devar Ji exams are coming close so" she trailed off.

Tej stood up from his seat, his tall form towering over Supreet. Supreet looked down at her feet. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice down to a whisper. She didn't want to anger him. Lakhan looked so worn out. And as his exam was nearing she thought he might need some time to revise his lessons and to unwind.

"Why are you apologizing" Tej asked in an amused tone. Supreet, looked up at Tej as he continued "And, I believe you are right."

"Really?"

"Yes. And besides, this is the first time you have asked me something. So don't worry, I'll talk to father about this."

Supreet face lit up with delight. "Thank you," she exclaimed. She hugged Tej and said "I love you"

"I love you, too" Tej replied dutifully, hugging her back.

I did mention that Tej is older than Lakhan. And in villages I guess people get married earlier, right?? Glad you like the chapter. Do you want to see any scene?

Chapter 12

Lakhan kept walking in the woods. He loved this place, particularly in rainy season when rain washes this place out. It becomes mesmerizing, the mist enveloping the panorama, the freshness in the air, the chill from the breeze and the trees bioluminiscent with glow worms at night, the chirping of the crickets, all this just gives a magical atmosphere. And this night was one such night. Lakhan would have just strolled around, would have let himself lost in the mesmerizing beauty and ambiance of the woods. He would just sit in the usual spot and took on his flute for night long, unaware of anything. But tonight he was quite aware of the unwanted companion who kept following him.

"Veerji!"

'Please not again! Why me?' Lakhan thought annoyed. He turned about and saw Rajveer standing behind him, grinning from ear to ear. " How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that!"

"But I like calling you that"

"Only, I'm younger than you!"Lakhan protested, in a slightly annoyed tone. He was just 19 and Rajveer looked like he was in his 20 or mid 20s." And didn't I tell you to leave from here that day? Why are you even here? If my brother sees you that will be the end of it."

" Will you please play it again?"

Lakhan looked at him befuddled. Was this guy deaf. Or was he making fun of him.

" Will you please play that flute again. Please" Rajveer said to Lakhan still grinning, but there was a hint of sorrow in his tone. " I'll leave after that I promise! Just play it for one last time. Please!!"

Lakhan shook his head dejectedly.
"Fine." He then looked at Rajveer with a blank look" But this will be the last time" with that Lakhan took out the flute from his jacket and began to play again. It begin with the same sorrowful melody which soon change into a joyful one but this time there was a slight differences in the note. Forming it into beautiful tone. Rajveer lost himself into the wonderful melody. He sat down beside the tree. Shutting his eyes, he leaned against the tree enjoying the tune. All beautiful memory flashed in his eyes. And her. All he could think about was her. His Soniyo. Her lithe form clad in that Pink chudidar. Her hair; those beautiful wavy locks, cascading down her shoulder and extending to her waist, the bangs framing her heart shaped face. Those eyes. Oh, those beautiful brown orbs in which he could stare of day long, life long. And her lips...

Lakhan abruptly stopped, when he heard the much familiar sound of his father jeep, approaching towards them. He shook Rajveer snapping him out of his dream world.

"Quick, run from here. My father is coming and if he sees you it be trouble." Lakhan pleaded. Rajveer swiftly got up and went away, disappearing in the woods. Minutes later, Balvinder came there riding his jeep. He at once stopped the jeep at the sight of his son.

"Lakhan, What are you doing here at this hour?" Balvinder questioned.

"Walk. It is a really nice weather so i thought, I would stroll " Lakhan honestly replied.

Balvinder sighed and hopped out of his jeep. "It indeed is." He admitted. He looked back at his son. "But you shouldn't roam at this hour. It's dangerous." With the Bajwa around, he was worried for his sons' safety. Lakhan was smart and clever, he knew it though he never admitted it out loud. He knew that his son can avoid physical fight, with the help of his intelligence, but was still worried for him. He can never trust those backstabers. He cannot take the risk.
" Come, let's go home" Balvinder gentle lead his son towards the jeep.

Lakhan slightly turned looking behind him at the direction Rajveer left. He frowned and looked away. 'Rajveer, you can fool other with your sweet talks but not me. I'm not gonna fall in your trick,' Lakhan fumed, as he sat on the jeep 'Soon, I shall expose you, show your true colours to everyone in this pind. Just wait and watch Rajveer or shall I say.' Lakhan thought as he smirked 'Raj Bajwa.'

It would have been just cool if Lakhan could read minds 🤣
Veerji... Veerji kehakar saala kameena apne mann mein meri behen ki izzat uthar raha hai 🤣.So his feelings for Preet are genuine. Lets say his hatred towards Mannu will have a new direction after the truth about Raman's murder will be proved😕 I think so.. Since he used to get so insecure when Preet used to praise Mannu before her secret was out...

Chapter 13.

At the Venue:-

Neha just stood in the hallway in awe, admiring the Decoration.

"Wow! This is simply amazing!" She exclaimed. Neha walked further, progressing to the hall.

The whole place was lavishly yet beautifully decorated in a dreamy combination, that of bright hangings and draperies. A background of satin draped along with strings of bright hangings of crystals. The pearl white drapes with the shiny crystals just added more energy to the environment of celebrations. And with the combination of the bouquet of white blooms. The whole place gave an almost mystical ambience, taking her breath away. While Neha stood there mesmerized Preet also came to hall looking for her cousin. She looked around the decoration, and unlike Neha Preet just frowned, looking unimpresive.

" This so stupid." Preet muttered rather annoyedly

" What?! Preet are you kidding me!! You can't be serious?" Neha shrieked, staring at her cousin in pure disbelief.

"Come on, Neha. Who spents so lavishly. The Agrawals just love love to Show off."

" You are only jealous!" Neha bickered.

" No, I'm not!" Preet snapped. "You get drawn in easily"

Neha just snorted and turned her attention to the would-be- bride. The young woman was dressed in a peach lehenga trimmed with gold and was adorned with expensive jewels. Neha gawked at her, while Preet shook her head disappointedly. Suddenly someone pulled Preet into a room, while a hand muffled her cries.

Preet struggled. It struck to her that the person was a guy. Preet was quick to react and stomped on the person foot with full force, and the guy immediately let her go. Preet turned around and was shocked to realize that the guy was none other than Rajveer.

"Ow! Ow! Soniyo, no fair. You shouldn't have hit me" Raj whined, holding his foot "I was just trying to Surprise you,"

" What kind of a surprise is this? You almost gave me a heart attack!!" Preet shrieked out, and held both of her hands to her chest, as if to prove her point.
" Sorry, I didn't intend to frighten you." Raj apologized and smiled at her. He stepped closer to her and Preet in a reflex took a step back. Raj noticed her scared expression, " Don't worry, I won't hurt you."Raj reassured her in a soft voice, " I'll never hurt. Your Veerji proved it as well."

" What do you want?" Preet asked.

" Just wanted to see you" Raj said, with a sweet smile.

Preet just crossed her arms in front of her chest " Dek liya? Now let me go." with that Preet was about to go, but Rajveer blocked her way in a hasty fashion.

" Wait! At least now tell me your name, Soniyo."
Preet groaned"Again? Didn't I tell you the other day? I'm not going to tell my name"

" Then, I also won't let you pass until you tell me your name" Raj maintained with a smirk.

Preet glared at Raj and tried to go out of the room by going around him, but Raj kept blocking her way. 'He is so freaking annoying? How will I come out of here?' Preet thought she saw her father passing by with Jagan the hallway, 'Ah! Perhaps if I...' "Fine!" Preet blurted out.

At that Rajveer just grinned "So, you will tell me your name" Preet didn't reply, but instead she smiled at Raj seductively. Rajveers' smile faded off and he stared at Preet in shock. As she stepped closer, he became more skittish. " You desire to know my name?Ha, Rajveer?" Preet said in a flirtious manner. Raj just nervously nodded his head. "Ok...So my name is.." Preet took a deep breath and then shouted"Papaji!!"

Rajveer flinched and looked at Preet dumfounded. "Papaji? Yeh kesa nam hei?

"You!" Suddenly an angry voice shouted. Rajveer turned around and was taken aback to see Man Singh standing beside Jagan. "How dare you try to misbehave with my daughter!"

"No, Uncle Ji, I wasn't troubling her. You can ask her--"

"Papa Ji" Preet cried out, she moved towards her father and embraced him. Rajveer gaped at her. Maan hugged Preet, gently stroking her head, still glaring at Rajveer. Rajveer immediately ran out of the room, before Maan order his men to attack him.

Man Singh consoled Preet and then ran to catch Rajveer, leaving her and Jagan in the room.

" You are smart." Jagan said, smirking at Preet. Preet just shrugged and smiled at him innocently.

Why would I be mad at you? I loved it... Especially Raj's dialogue... Papaji? Yeh kaisa naam hai?... I laughed very hard after reading that.. Poor Raj... Both the two sides of the same coin are often getting him beaten up!
