Yes, her makeup looked somewhat darker. Maybe they synced it with the symbolism of her being a Krishna to Rudra.

I agree. I remember saying something like this somewhere. More than Maya's belief..it's also the makers' portrayal. They are showing that Rudra has some hope while Maya has squashed all the hopes herself.Originally posted by: tournesol

I think Maya believes she is completely consumed by the darkness, so she has no respite from her past, while Rudra still has some light in his life and so he should fight and get a chance to save his soul.

I think it's their way of explaining why Rudra has buried his past and yet struggling with it and Maya is revenging it.
