Chapter 2
REFLECTION OF PAST
As the morning light filtered through the curtains, Garry's eyes fluttered open, finding Keerat nestled against him, her breath a gentle rhythm against his chest.
A tender smile touched his lips as he leaned in to kiss her forehead softly and lovingly.
Keerat stirred slightly, a soft smile gracing her lips as she drifted back to sleep.
As Garry watched Keerat sleeping peacefully, a wave of gratitude washed over him.
He felt his heart swell with a love so profound it felt as though it might burst from his chest.
He whispered softly, his voice barely audible in the quiet room, "How had I been so lucky to find someone so beautiful, so kind, fierce, and soo perfect??
Garry leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Keerat's forehead once more, his lips lingering briefly against her warm skin.
He decided not to disturb her peaceful sleep, knowing that she deserves every bit of it.
"I'll freshen up and make some tea," he whispered softly to himself.
Making his way to the bathroom, Garry splashed cold water on his face, hoping to shake off the remnants of a restless night.
But as he gazed into the mirror, horror seized him like icy tendrils wrapping around his heart.
His reflection stared back at him, but it was not the familiar face of Garry that he knew. Instead, the reflection showed a face he hadn't seen in yearsβhis younger brother.
Panic clawed at his throat as he reached out to touch the reflection, only to find his own hand trembling in disbelief.
"Veer?" Garry's voice trembled, his mind unable to comprehend the impossible sight before him.
As Garry stared transfixed at the horrifying reflection of Veer.
In the reflection, Veer's features stood starkly different from Garry's usual appearance.
While Garry had small, unassuming eyes and little to no beard, Veer's reflection depicted a stark contrast.
Veer's eyes were unnaturally large, almost consuming the entirety of his face, and his beard was thick and he had a grin on his face.
It was a twisted grin, full of malice , pure evil as if mocking him.
Frantically, Garry splashed his face again and again, and again, as if trying to wash away the horrifying image that had replaced his own reflection.
"What's happening to me?"
Am I hallucinating ?? Garry's voice quivered with fear, his mind reeling with unanswered questions.
Forcing himself to calm down, Garry took a deep breath and looked into the mirror once more, relief flooding his senses as he found his own reflection staring back at him.
As Garry stepped out of the washroom, a sense of relief washed over him like a soothing wave.
But as he stole a glance toward his sleeping wife, the events of the previous night crept back into his mind, sending a chill down his spine, lingering like a haunting melody.
Garry settled beside Keerat, gently caressing her head with a tenderness that mirrored the words she had spoken to him just the night before.
Veer is calling me, Garry,"
As Garry's thoughts drifted back to her words, his mind recoiled at the memory of the washroom incident he faced.
"Had she too experienced the same unsettling hallucinations ?" he wondered, his voice barely above a whisper.
Was it really a hallucination??
Or NOT
