"Manvi come here" he again whispers, while hanging with the supports of railings.

"Viren" she ran.

Viren? Viren is here? She ran to him with gushing hope and beaming joy.

"Why are you hanging, come inside" she said.

"No, police is here. They will catch me." Said Viren horrified.

"But why should they? What have you done?" Manvi asked him in disbelief.

"Baby, my company got bankrupted few months ago..."

"Oh, but you never told me" she smiled at him sarcastically.

"I... I.." he fumbled.

"May I have your attention guys...(Virat came from behind Manvi)."

"Vi..Virat?" escaped a shocked reaction from his mouth.

There was still some time of the arrival of a new day. They sat there on the chairs of the balcony.

"Bhai, I believe you, that's why I didn't wake Martin up. But you have to tell every little detail what I will ask. It's important to prove yourself innocent." Pleaded Virat.

"You never told me that you have a brother, Viren" manvi said at last unable to suppress her disappointment and shock."

Virat looked away trying to avoid the couple-conversation.

Viren chose to keep mum. Virat looked over feeling the silence. What made Viren to hide a very important chapter of his life from his love, his wife? Virat thought.

"I want an answer Damn it" she jerked him by shoulder.
"I think overcoming the unwanted problems should be our utter most priority." He shrugged.

She had seen this Viren only a few times, before. She came to know about the insensitive part of her husband, the day when she first started sharing her deeper feelings with him, liquid sulphur.

Manvi's body shivered and Virat knew it was not because of the cold weather but because of the cold behavior. Virat didn't want to witness any break down of Manvi or any couple quarrel. He hate being in relationship, he hate being in marriage.

"So tell me bhai, each and every detail" asked Virat again. His voice tough.

"We went to Ms. Keller's house to offer an insurance policy to her" Viren started.

"But you knew your company bankrupted. Didn't you?" Virat countered.

Viren hesitated and looked at Manvi in discomfort. "yeah, actually I wanted to sell her the policy, so that with the first premium money, we can flee to any other city and live a better life."

"So, you wanted to cheat that woman" Virat conclude.

Viren hung his head low.

"Wow, really?" Manvi looked at Viren shocked for an explanation. "But I never knew about the escaping mission. Even I didn't know about the bankruptcy.

"Manvi I tried to tell you, someday before but you said you are pregnant and I just couldn't" Viren said in frustration.

"Erm, Bhai, be careful, you are telling everything before a detective and I am working with Australian police right now and cheating is also a crime." Virat's jaw clenched.

"Virat, mere bhai, you don't know the situation I was and am going through" he said.

"Explain then" he demanded.

"I said it all. I was bankrupted, my wife was pregnant. I needed money for me, for her, for our baby. I thought she has plenty, if I steel some, there would not be any decrease. So.. I just"

"Then? Why all of a sudden you ran from there with Manvi?" he asked again.

"That's what I want to tell. Ms. Keller's maid said us to wait at the drawing room, Ms. Keller will come in few minutes. While she went to bring coffee for us, we agreed, and then suddenly I remembered that Manvi is pregnant and coffee would be unhealthy for her, so I went inside to tell that." Viren said.

"But coffee was not poured in the cup for her, why you felt the need to go yourself and ask the maid to stop making coffee for her?" Virat attacked.

"I don't know." He answered nodding his head like a lost person, who woke up suddenly and found he is not in his home but in any deserted place.

"Proceed" manvi told. Her face held no emotions.

"I went inside and saw Ms. Keller adding some tablets in our coffee and saying your game is finished or something like that. I got frightened and ran towards Manvi. I held her hands and we were far from her area within minutes. We could hear her fade voice, she was calling us."

"But why you chose to run within the forests instead of the highway?" Virat enquired.

"My car betrayed us and I thought forest would be the best shortcut for our home." Viren replied.

Viren still prefers shortcuts, Virat thought. Something never changes. His self centered attitude, insensitivity, cheesy romantic actions, just like he was few years ago, just like he used to be in Mumbai.

"If I am not wrong, it's her house not yours." Virat again retorted.

We are not different." He said cheesy. Again, Virat thought. Some irritating fakeness never fades away.

"That's why I used to tell you fall in love, marry someone. It's an awesome feeling." Viren tried to hold Manvi's hand. She didn't reciprocate. The yet to be appeared smile vanished leaving his gloomy.

"It's getting clear, I think I should leave" said Viren looking at the unclear cleanliness of the outside.

"Not before telling me where are you staying for the previous days?"

"I took shelter in my company's garage, that's a safe place and police would not doubt the place I thought"

"But you left your wife unconscious in a road beside forest and just fled?" He asked little astound.

"I didn't flee. I don't know what happened. In the forest we were running, suddenly something hit my head and I don't know what happened after that. I found myself between the highway and the forest. Then I tried to search for her but she was nowhere. I came to home and saw some police outside our house. Then I thought I should talk to her, but couldn't find my phone when I looked for it. Suddenly I saw her in the veranda and she looked fine, I took shelter in the garage in relief." Viren stopped. He looked at Manvi, his eyes asking her to understand him.

"Now... you should leave" said Virat. Viren hugged Manvi, she hugged him back. He went to the railings again.

"Manvi give him his phone." Virat suggested.

"Oh yep." She said and went inside.

"Bhai, I think you won't do anything silly without informing me. Let me tell you they are suspecting you as the serial killer." Virat told.

"Serial killer?" he asked.

"Don't you know here in red hills, young married woman are being murdered from past few months?" Virat said irritated. Viren must be acting, as if he didn't know what's going on his city, Virat thought.

"Oh my Gawd. But why are they suspecting me? I'm a very simple happily married man!" he exclaimed.

"I don't know, you have to ask them." Virat told.

"Take this." Manvi came with Viren's mobile and handed over it to him. "Try to share everything with me from now." She again raised her hopes.

"Hmm" Viren cupped her face before leaving.

"Viren came here last night. I let him go." Virat moved the curtains to one side letting the scorching sunrays fall on a just woke up Martin's face.

"Huh?" Martin looked at him a little shocked, though he Virat was a very private person but Viren is a suspect. How could he let him vanish again!

"Trace the number, and keep watching, Sir" Virat said over phone to the police commissioner.

"Virat why are you telling me now that Viren came here last night?" said Martin disappointed. "Now you are tracing his number." He told aloud. But his cell was with Manvi, he thought. "Manvi also knows?" he asked curiously.

"Yeah, quite obvious." Virat told.

"Don't tell me, Manvi also went with her loving husband" Martin felt disgusted.

"No, she didn't and I don't think her husband is that much loving what we thought" confessed Virat.

"Really" Martin gave a surprised smile."But you shouldn't let him go. We don't know may be he is the killer" said Martin hopelessly.

"Do we have enough proof that he is the killer? We have to trace his every action to send him behind the bars" explained Virat.

"Hmm, that's true. Let's hope he don't change his sim" hoped Martin.

"He won't. I don't think he will."

"You seem so sure..." Martin snapped.

I know him out and in, his every action, deeds. W e are brothers, although half-brothers but we are brothers. He thought.

"Wow Virat You and clean shaven? What happened?" Martin asked winking his blue eyes. Virat avoided Martin's glare. He felt uncomfortable answering anything. He never had been out with a girl before. Going on a date with someone, a new feeling for him. Oh what just he thought a date? Really? A date? But she is married. He laughed at his luck.

"Are you going out for a date?" Martin's chirping voice came.

What? How come he knew? "I, I have some work. You please do reach Manvi's place on time, I will join you directly there. Melesa is with her till then." He said.

"Yep, I will" Martin said with a grin.

Virat nodded his head and smiled back at Martin. For the first time Virat didn't got irritated seeing any behavior of Martin but he smiled. Martin wondered who would be the wonder date of Virat.

With excitement little bit cocktailed with nervousness and hope Virat started his jeep and ran towards The Serene Caf.
