I don't know about villain roles but I saw a short part of Yess Boss on TV today and Srk has definitely lost his touch. He doesn't act naturally as he did back then. He has become more cliche and repetitive. I want him to renew himself, so I think he should do villain type roles just for variety.

I will first respond on Dhom 4 point @TM:

- Dhoom 4 isn't likely to be made anytime soon

- By the time it will be made, SRK's casting in it is even more doubtful since he'd have aged more.

- SRK has already been doing Don series so that probably doesn't make him a novel candidate in makers' eyes for Dhoom. (I always feel there's a reason why they went for a less expected choice like Aamir Khan for D3)

Coming to SRK, he can do villainous roles but I doubt if he has it in him to take risks like Baazigar and Darr now. At that time he just accepted them because he was new and wanted work. Now he seems too conscious of his star status and King Khan image. No idea if he will give it all to his performance and not try to focus much on being larger than life or add some romantic/good touch to live up to his image.

Not that he doesn't have talent, but sorry to say, nowadays SRK seems more interested in hamming and paying tributes to his own iconic stature than do different stuff and give life to characters.

No idea why's he so keen on Don series. They are slow and lack mass appeal. Plus a Don rarely evokes sentiments the way a normal villain or flawed character does.

Audience's heart can go out to a psycho Rahul or revenge seeking Ajay/Vicky. What's there to root for in an all powerful menacing Don? You can only be in awe of Don. Not feel for him.

SRK can do anything if he stops being conscious of King Khan tag.

I'm pretty sure I read in a recent interview SRK himself stating he wants to do a villain role like Baazigar and Darr again? He said he would love to do a proper villain role as he feels that 'Don' wasn't really a natural villain.

I dont thik he will risk it now.. with his old n frail looks ppl might think thats another Sadashiv Aamrapurkar. 😕
