Sounds nostalgic and then reminds of someone right ???? Well there was concern for the crew too which again reminds on sme one else ...😆😆

"My only concern is that the show should not shut down because Ali has quit."

Says Ali Asgar about the rumors of him leaving the show and confirms that he is continuing with Jeannie Aur Juju.

Recently, there was speculation about Ali Asgar aka Juju of Jeannie Aur Juju leaving the show however, the actor tells us in detail about what went wrong and on which conditions he has come to an understanding of continuing with the show.

"There were problems but after having a chat with the production team I've decided that for the time being I'm going to continue with the show. Lets see whether certain things improve or not," says Ali.

So what exactly were the problems he was facing? "If the script is not good what can I do? The same double roles; I think I've played such roles for 7 to 8 times in the serial and once there was triple and four roles that I've done. Later it was becoming monotonous. There is no creative planning and I feel there should be a limit to everything."

He adds further, "It is very easy for someone to say that I'm not doing this show but for me I've given a lot to it and thus just can't get up one day and go. I've worked non stop for 36 hours, not taken a break and there were times when I had not even taken a week off. So I really want to give this show a chance."

There were rumors that the show might be pulled off air, is it true? "No, I can't comment on that as it's the channel's call. My only concern is that it should not shut down because Ali has left the show. For us (actors) its easy as we can move on to many different shows but for the team involved like the spot boys, technicians etc it becomes difficult."

Acting in a daily soap keeps one so busy that it means you have to let go of some offers, which is what happened with Ali too. In a very disheartening tone, he states, "I got two good offers for films - Kick and Happy New Year but couldn't do them as I had no time. I feel bad to miss aSalman Khan film. I remember when I visited the sets of Bigg Boss, Salman said 'arre you want to do a film' and I said 'yes'. After a month I got a call from Sajid Nadiadwala's team for a chunky role in Kick and they needed me for a one month but as I was shooting for my daily serial couldn't go. Again the same thing happened with Shah Rukh Khan's flick Happy New Year, though in this there was just 2 or 3 days needed."

Signing off Ali says, "Jeannie Aur Juju has given me lot of awards and appreciation but I've decided that after this I'll not take any daily soap. I just want to work for 15 to 20 days and rest of the days I want to give time to my self and take up some other work," he concludes.

Till then Ali's fans can stay happy watching him in Jeannie Aur Juju.

"I was not terminated from Shapath... I quit the show" - Piyush Sahdev

Telly Town's dude Piyush Sahdev rubbishes rumors that he was terminated and talks about his association with the ongoing show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV...

Monday, December 16, 2013 | 7:10:53 PM IST (+05:30 GMT) | Copyright: india-forums.com | 28 Comments | 1366 Views
Currently seen in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Piyush Sahdev was surprised to hear that a popular search engine had written that he was terminated from Life OK's show, Hum Ne Le Hai...Shapath.

A source from the channel though confirmed that the actor was terminated from the show. Piyush on the other hand says, "I wanted to leave Shapath as it's been two years I was playing the same character and thought that there was no growth in the character. Also I wanted to take some time off and wanted to spend some time with my wife for a long vacation so I told channel that I'm quitting the show."

Piyush was lucky enough to have bagged the show Sapne Suhane Ladkpane Ke as he says, "After I decided to quit Shapath... the channel approached to me to play the character of Ram in Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev and as soon as I completed my stint in the show I fortunately got this Zee show. Though the channel wanted me to come back but I declined as I knew that there is nothing more that I can give to my role of Abhigyan. All I can say is that I was not terminated from Shapath but I quit the show. Also the channel was ok with this decision."

He says that he is very happy to be a part of the show Sapne Suhane... as it is his dream role, "I've moved on and am very happy to be part of the show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke as it's my dream role. Firstly I look very stylish in the show and people had loved my character too. I think roles like that of Vivian Dsena as RK in Madhubala- Ek ishq Ek Junoon or Gurmeet Choudhary as Maan Singh Khurana in Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi is something that audience like. My character too is similar to that."

Piyush is happy with the way the audience has liked his character and says that the audience loves his character the most, "I know mostly such characters are or have been played on TV but each individual has different style. Vivian has his own style and I've my own. The best part is that audience loves it thus the TRP ratings have gone up from 2 to almost 3 after my entry."

"With this show I get to perform so many shades like romantic, angry young man and sometimes a very happy person too. As far as I know I'll be associated with this show for a longer time and why not yaar, I'm getting to learn a lot in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke," he concludes talking about his association with the show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

Way to go Piyush!

Fragrance of Yesteryears: Sanjeev Kumar

BollyCurry is back once again, bringing to you yet another star from times bygone in our Fragrance of Yesteryears series.

BollyCurry is back once again, bringing to you yet another star from times bygone in ourFragrance of Yesteryears series. This time round, we feature the versatile actor Sanjeev Kumar. Most known for his role as the strong Thakur in Sholay (1975), he has appeared in over a hundred films in a variety of roles!

Kumar was born on July 9th, 1938 as the eldest son of a Gujarati Jain family in Surat, who later moved to Mumbai. He started his acting career as a theatre actor with the Indian People's Theatre Association in Mumbai. He then moved onto doing stage work with the Indian National Theatre and appeared in low budget Bollywood movies. Kumar received his big break when he was spotted by renowned filmmaker Gulzar during his portrayal of a sixty year old man in a play. Gulzar was so impressed with Kumar's flawless execution of an old man, despite being only twenty-two years old himself, that he cast Kumar in numerous roles of older men in movies such asAandhi (1975) and Mausum (1975). Gulzar and Kumar worked in a total of nine movies together over the course of Kumar's career, including Koshish (1973) where Kumar gave a stellar performance as a deaf and mute individual and even went on to win the BFJA Best Actor award for his performance.

From the moment he entered the movie industry, Kumar was an actor who could not be easily typecast into a particular genre, owing to his wide variety of movies. Some of his work included character driven roles such as Dastak (1970), Sholay (1975), Shatranj KeKhilad (1977), Trishul (1978) and Vidhata (1982). He was also known for his impeccable comic timing, which can be exemplified in movies like Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Pati, Patni Aur Woh (1978)and Angoor (1981) to name a few. Kumar was well liked amongst the film fraternity and had a reputation of being a simple man who had a distinct style of working. He gave everything to his work and was known to rarely ever give retakes during his shots. His wonderful performances earned him two National Film Best Actor awards for his role in Dastak (1970) and Koshish (1973). He also has two Filmfare awards for Best Actor and one Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor to his credit.

Unfortunately, Kumar inherited a congenital heart condition which lead to his early death on November 6th, 1985 at the mere age of forty-seven. Despite having previously undergone heart surgery in the US, Kumar succumbed to his disease in the form of a massive heart attack. Numerous other members of his family also died before the age of fifty due to this condition, including two of his brothers. Despite his early death, Kumar's legacy continues to remain alive in the form of amazing roles in some classic movies.

Did you know?
  • Kumar's real name is Harihar Jethalal Zariwala
  • He used to sleep in a kitchen as a child and this is thought to be the root of his love for food.
  • Kumar never married because he fell in love with co-actress Hema Malini, but she never reciprocated his feelings.
  • It is rumored that actress Sulakshana Pandit, one of the sisters of the popular composers Jatin-Lalit, was in love with Sanjeev and became mentally unstable when he turned her down.
  • To honor his legacy, the Indian Postal Service released a stamp with his face earlier this year in May.

What is Ankita Sharma doing in Rangrasiya?

Rang Rasiya

The preparations for Sanaya Irani's show are in full swing, every day the makers are hiring and firing actors to play different roles

The new actor to join the huge star cast is Ankita Sharma who was last seen in Life OK's Amrit Manthan as the protagonist. It seems the makers of Rangrasiya have now roped in Ankita to play a pivotal role in the show. Ankita, who has been playing positive characters in all her shows, will be seen in a different avatar in this one.

Playing the negative lead of Laila, Ankita will be portraying a bold and daring character. She will be in love with our hero Ashish Sharma. The sweet and soft spoke Ankita has set out to do such a daring character, which is the complete opposite of the real her. We wonder if Ankita will be able to pull it off. Besides looking the part, the negative character has to be very convincing and head strong.

We just hope Ankita is able to bring forth the bitchiness Laila requires. Fingers crossed!
