Najat, separation was anyway viewership-unaffordable for more than a few episodes, as it needs mass-audience to be interested in watching the couple on separate home-sets (with that increased expense) in separate scenes individually. But they ended up not even able to show it for a day.
The heroine-centric film, neither the channel nor the PH ever admitted in all their statements and announcements that if that sort of 'film'-switch happened, there would be no more scenes of the heroine 'filming' if the couple weren't there together. The channel and PH are apparently not willing to take the financial brunt for lack of massive viewership for their creative ideas. So either sponsors have to be willing to back up their budget, or they have to be willing to choke on the cost of inadequate crores of mass-viewership.
The husband getting repeatedly demeaned and the wife uncharacteristically shown uncomprehending of it? They tried to sell it as his inexplicable insecurity, but it's too damn understandable for most of the conservative majority-audience.
And a couple who understand and support each other and defend each other's dignity - that gets great viewership even if the track is nonexistent.
Here, we have a couple that take turns in giving grand proclamations of devotion and care for each other but uncharacteristically fail to translate that into deeds just to arrange a plot-convenience point for an ongoing track.
Everything that the majority-audience loved about RK and Madhu and which ensured series-commensurate 3+ TRP has been scuttled for a couple whose majbooris of one and rise of the other have not enough takers in terms of required crores of mass-audience to get a track budgeted to continue.
Every reaction that would get Madhu mass-support is never shown, and they always opt for something that is predictable weeks in advance as going to cause track-scuttling at crux-point.
If the track is good enough to stand, it can be gauged at the very starting fortnight not via TRP (which reflects only the first half of the episode) but via data of which scenes and tracks are unacceptable to majority-audience. The tastes of the required mass-audience have been consistent for months and years, and going against that has got track-closure for every consecutive track for so many months.
Was hoping they'd pull the reins this time and modify course while we were still scraping along in the 2+ range.

Leela, seems like the number is real - the TRPs from the reliable source that I look at also show 1.9 (this week they didnt give TVTs)

Last week was MC track...am quite sure it will fall further. Nothing to do with the actress or even the character, but the third angle or ok, the new girl in RK's life, does'nt seem to be justified. The disconnect between RM is not convincing.

And if the disconnect convinces the viewers, the show is gone anyway. Because their irrational connect was the USP. Otherwise there are many other, much better serials with EMAs, saas-bhau-devrani, why would anyone watch this one?

TRP Charts:

"We know what we are doing." Of course CVs!

Another pathetic week. TRPs went to 1.9 vs. 2.2, down approx. 14% (TVTs were not available this week, so %ages may be off a little.) MB's position shares its #18 position with Punar Vivah (yes.) Majority of the top 18 shows decreased TRPs from the prior week.

The numbers say it all - this track is not working. However, the issue goes deeper than just the track. Its a basic disconnect between what CVs are churning out, versus what the viewers want to see (there are numerous posts that CVs can refer to if they are interested. The ones that come to mind are Leela, Evil Defiance, Soundarya, Subashni, Charu to name just a few.) Next week will be yet another interesting week - what with the introduction of the new girl. Wait and watch...
Weekly TRP historical trends are below (note: data converted from TVTs to TRPs so that we could have consistent comparison points. This is a rough inexact conversion and may not match to the second decimal place with other estimates due to minor differences in conversion methodology)
Note: Data converted from TVTs to TRPs from week 31 onwards. Does not take into consideration impact of adding new markets at various points. Size of these markets, viewing patterns, demographics, level of digitization etc. of those markets would impact TRPs. Also, hard to judge IPL's exact impact.
The two charts below show: 1) Top 18 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same. TVTs (which I believe do provide an accurate picture of relative rankings) were used to rank the shows.

Note:
  • TRPs for Taarak will be updated as soon as they become available. As of now, last weeks numbers with an adjustment down for Sab TV's % drop were plugged in as a placeholder.
  • This week no TVT data was received as of now. If TVT data does become availble, the rankings will be adjusted to reflect that.
  • This is a rough analysis. Please feel free to point out any holes.

Jaiho the TRP's.Waiting for next week's dhamaka. What a splendid 450th episode.!. Last week's MC track was tragic comedy. Both blaming each other when in reality they deserved this grief. Hero insisting abortion for financial gains, never shown to have emotional connect with the baby, heroine justifying the stunt as a sacrifice for movie meaning it is not wrong to hurt the baby..Audience are not fools to forget she did that stunt deliberately to get back on her husband. They are neither ignorant of film making where BD.s graphics etc are not unheard of. so it is not that she could not avoid . .Such a clunky scenario no doubt was a great turn off. The same day she gets back and husband rushes to a stranger's bedside. Engrossed in a woman's diary without a trace of grief.leaving the viewer to wonder what happened to his junoon bhara pyar. How ridiculous this could be?.If the idea is to show the couple drifting there is a reasonable time frame.which an average viewer could digest. and connect. Not this 3 days wonder When the track is strewn with too many clunks even for a daily soap's standard which has become the norm of the show, the lead pair too is butchered .Wife overshadowing husband, her insensitivity to him and his insecurity .turning to another woman in short duration, rattling the basic identity of the show etc. I am not surprised with the result. which again proves there is not much difference between TRP viewer and online viewer.as far as this show is concerned.R.K's portrayal will not get any sympathy to madhu but make the viewer use the remote with disgust.
