Jokes apart, right now someone's mom wont react even if her daughter comes with an outcome out of a most nasty behaviour right in front of her.
All she is thinking about how she gonna face the world with the fact that her pride is no more and it does not belong to her anymore; same pride with once she challenged the whole world .
To face this kind of challenging situation, someone like Meenu would be apt or Sumi too to an extent but she stays behind cos of her emotions, but not certainly an 'Irrational' women.

Ira is only concerned about herself and her ego and nothing else.Her son is a only a posession to be proud of and to be talked about with pride and her daughter is only a burden to her who is everybody's responsibility except hers.
Please no comparisons with Sumi.Sumi even at her worst was better than Ira.Even now she tries her level best to accept her DIL's son as her grandson because she knows that is the right thing to do.Sumi punished herself for raising a son like Jagya.You can never expect that from Ira.
