She was innocuously enough after a goddess named
She just took away Polly's fortune and fame

Every word she spoke, another meaning had
And the other meaning was always scandalously bad

Come, go, wet, dry
No word was spared!! Oh my!

Now Polly was freed from the tag
Now no more the tongues would wag

Polly was well and truly overthrown
The crown of the gutter queen was the goddesses own

Now Polly just has memories of her time as queen
Of how her sweet words were twisted to mean

Things she never ever saw in her mind
When she said all those words which landed her in a bind

Now she is happily retired from the post
Which really did embarrass her the most

Polly now watches the goddesses words a flutter
And convinces others that they r not from the gutter!!!!
