STARRY QUIZ: SRK will quiz Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani in a special episode of the show.

New Delhi: After special episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati on Valentine's Day and Holi, there's another one in the offing. And this time, it's Munnabhai and his rival on the show.

Host Shah Rukh Khan will quiz Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani in a special episode of the show.

Sources say the celebrity participants won a good amount in the quiz and Dutt plans to donate the money to a drug rehab for children.

It looks like the special episodes of KBC with celebrity participants are doing some good to society, after all.

After adding colour to the Holi Special of the show on March 1, actress Preity Zinta had donated the money she won on the show (Rs 25 lakh) to the Shimla District Red Cross Society.

I'm glad my kids are safe: SRK

TALKING POINT: SRK says he knows he will be spoken about, good, bad or ugly.

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan and Amar Singh's feud made headlines in the past few weeks with the actor calling the Samajwadi Party General Secretary a darinda (devil), at the Filmfare Awards function recently. The actor was promoting a watch brand in Mumbai, and CNN-IBN caught up with him about the protests outside his house.

Rohit Khilnani: It's always great interviewing Shah Rukh Khan since he has an answer to every question. So you are comfortable giving interviews, right?

Shah Rukh Khan: Yes, I'm good doing interviews.

Rohit Khilnani: You have taken the brand TAG forward, it was a part of Don and Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Shah Rukh Khan: Normally, when I endorse something, I do end up having a liking for it. On KBC, it's not a marketing gimmick. I give watches I wear on the days I feel like giving them away.

Rohit Khilnani: You are a family man and there were protests outside your house. Weren't you scared?

Shah Rukh Khan: It happened a while ago and I've said whatever I had to say about it. I think everyone understands my state of mind. I am not someone who reacts to what people say. It's been years since I realised that I will be spoken about, good, bad or ugly. So if I react to it, I would be spending my whole day on it. Yes, I do react to the safety of my kids. I'm glad they are safe and it's my duty to keep them safe.

S R K's Biopic!!

[19 Mar 2007>

Now, there is another feather in the S R K's cap! The officials at London's Madame Tussauds Museum are planning to make a fifty minute long biopic on the life and times of Shah Rukh Khan. The film is to be directed by Bobby Khan and all the directors, actors who have worked with King Khan, are likely to be part of this film. The film's name will be ' The Making of Another King Khan.'

As a sources reveals, ' The museum wanted to have a film chronicling Shah Rukh's life and they approached the Bobby Khan for it. The film will narrate the story of the actor's life right from his childhood days and will end at unveiling of his wax statue at Madame Tussauds.'

According to sources Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza have already given their consent to be part of the film and the film is likely to have a grand release some time in the latter half of this year. Now at least on this front S R K is ahead of Big B, Amar Singh listening?

First Wax, Now Celluloid For SRK At Madame Tussuad's

By Krishna Jewel, AllBollywood.com Staff
March 19, 2007

It has been decided at the famous wax museum Madame Tussuad's in London to make a 50-minute film as a tribute to the life of our own Baadshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. The film has been named The Making of Another King Khan.

It is learnt that the museum wanted to make a narrative on Shah Rukh's life for quite some time. Finally, they approached choreographer Bobby Khan. Bobby, who is directing the film, is now finalising the list of people whom he plans to feature in the film. Some of the people who have been roped in to be a part of this biopic include Karan Johar, Juhi Chawla, and Aziz Mirza. Shah Rukh's celebrity friends from the Indian film industry and some of the leading ladies will be included as well.

The film will chronicle the life of King Khan, from his childhood days to his struggle as a newcomer in the industry to his super success. The premiere screening will be followed by the official unveiling of his wax statue at the museum. The film will also see a public release later this year.

Shah Rukh is the next to be immortalised in the museum, Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan have already been made features.

I am running out of watches: Shah Rukh Khan

20th Mar 2007 09.01 IST
By Agencies

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says that gifting his personal watches to KBC contestants who do not do well was not a marketing gimmick of Tag Heuer.

''It is genuine personal and spontaneous decision. Actually, I am running out of watches,'' SRK quipped, replying to questions during a press conference organised by Tag Heuer, a leading luxury watch brand of which he is a brand ambassador in Mumbai on Sunday.

SRK was gifted a limited edition of SLR Mercedes watch, specially designed on the occasion of Formula One (F1) season which began in Melbourne on Sunday.

Speaking about Tag Heuer's association with F1, SRK said, ''I am delighted that Tag Heuer has created a new watch for this exciting sport. Apart from owning this fantastic watch, I hope to get an opportunity to drive F1 some day.''

Recalling that he had driven a F3 car during the shooting of 'Baazigar', SRK revealed his sporty side when he said he follows the sport, which his children were interested in playing.

''We play hockey and soccer in our garden in the evenings. As they are growing older, the game is also getting serious,'' he said adding that he feels India is assured of a semi-final berth at the cricket world cup and has a huge chance of winning the tournament.

Interestingly, SRK's comments on India's prospects came when India was struggling against Bangladesh in its first match.

When asked if his forthcoming film Chak De India in which he plays a coach of women's hockey team would boost the sport in India, SRK said he hoped that the film would make a positive impact on the game and promotes it.

''We require huge sponsorships for hockey in present times,'' he felt. To a question on when he would gift a Tag Heuer to his son, the actor, in his inimitable style, remarked ''to wear a Tag watch, he needs to be deserving. Merely being Shah Rukh Khan's son will not do,'' he added.

Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra , the new lady ambassador of Tag Heuer said that being part of the brand was a matter of "great pride" to her. "The Tag brand strives for excellence and success like I try to achieve in my field. Wearing a Tag watch makes me feel like I have achieved something in life,'' she added.

Both SRK and Priyanka said time and speed were extremely important in personal and professional lives of individuals.

''I am bad with time not because I want to. I wish there were some more hours in a day so that I could fit many things in that period and also get time to sleep,'' the King Khan said, referring to his tendency to arrive late at functions.

Bollywood's ideal men

RENUKA VYAVAHARE
INDIATIMES MOVIES

As much as women like to criticise men, it's a known fact that we hopelessly love them, no matter what. Also being a film-loving country we even have this secret desire of meeting a man who in some way or the other resembles the dashing leading actors of our country whom we consider 'ideal men'. Here's a lowdown on the most desirable men women find simply irresistible.

Shah Rukh Khan

He is a superstar, extremely successful, yet with his feet planted firmly on the ground. His middle class ideals, self-confidence, never-say-die spirit and his oh-so-adorable dimples... His one look can make any woman go weak in her knees. Don't we want our man to be as romantic as Shah Rukh is?

'More people are watching KBC ever before'

By: Upala KBR
March 20, 2007

One up on the competition: Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Basu pic/ PRADEEP DHIVAR

There seems to be a muted conspiracy to pull Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 down. Surprisingly, one didn't hear constant discussions about it's ratings, impact and over-analysis when the Big B was at its helm. In a frank chat, Siddharth Basu, who produces KBC, talks about the conspiracy theory, Shah Rukh and the ratings.

Everybody seems to be tossing around KBC TRPs. What's the real figure?

This is no secret as TAM figures are regularly published. The key is not an absolute figure, as if that's some kind of ultimate class grade, but the number of viewers.

And the bottom line is that more people are watching KBC with SRK than ever before.

Do you sense a conspiracy to sabotage KBC?

I really don't know whether it's competitors or just natural media obsession with a much-hyped show.

What I do know is that people are enjoying the show in large numbers, Star is positive about its commercial performance and the show is delivering high visibility to its sponsors.

So the uninformed or deliberately distorted reports about TRPs are of questionable consequence.

KBC figures were never this hotly debated in the past.

The match has been played and won. Extraa Talk can go on forever. It's inevitable that when something takes center stage in a crowded and competitive field, there will be a few hoots among the hurrahs.

Is the continuous TRP debate frustrating or amusing?

The show is as entertaining as it can get. It remains richly rewarding for those who want to stake a claim for the hot seat and the huge prize, and compelling viewing for those who can see how a few questions can change lives for the better.

And it has a new host who has re-invented the conduct of the show superbly, reaching out to new and younger audiences. That's what matters to us as producers, and that's what should matter to viewers.

How would you describe KBC 3 — average or hit?

Going by viewer response, it's as good as it can get.

Is KBC3 ending in April?

Yes. This series is for 52 episodes. Star has acquired the rights for 5 years with a maximum of 52 episodes each year, so the fourth season will start any time later this year.

Were SRK's episodes Mr Bachchan's backlog?

All the contestants who had qualified for KBC 2 but couldn't take part because of last year's premature termination have been accommodated in the current series of KBC 3 with SRK.

Is Shah Rukh's contract being reworked, like his detractors are saying?

I cannot comment on matters pertaining to his contract and commercials, because as producers we have nothing to do with it.

But I can categorically say that Synergy and Star are more than satisfied with Shah Rukh's performance as host of KBC 3.

Any message for the KBC critics?

Do they exist?

It is being rumoured that celebrities are shown the questionnaire beforehand. Comment.

Never. No contestant, least of all any celebrity on KBC, has ever been given a clue about questions or answers before the recording. They are not paid either, unlike some other shows.

The celebrities genuinely donate the value of their time apart from their winnings.

What does happen with charity specials on KBC is that the questions put to the celebrities are relatively simpler, since the winnings are not for the contestant, but entirely for recognised charities.

The host, who is never given the answers beforehand either, goes all out to be as helpful as possible.

Shahrukh Khan sets rumours right

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 09:24:30 am

Shahrukh Khan, the blue eyed boy of the Yashraj camp, is back with his latest film 'Chak De India'. E Now's Vijaya Upadhyay caught up with the Badshah who dispelled all rumours of any fall out between him and the Chopras.

VU: 'Chak De' looks gorgeous in the stills with you and the lovely ladies.

SRK: It's a film that has got a very honourable thought behind it. It's got sports and it's got women. That combination is lacking in out country. I'm sorry to say that; I'm very proud of the women in my country and I'm very proud of the sports to whatever extent it happens in the country, I love my country. But, we do feel that there is something lacking within sports and the combination of women in it. Hopefully by choosing the subject of field hockey, we are able to bring to the notice of people that there are certain aspects of the sport that we need to look at.

VU: What according to you is the beauty of 'Chak De'?

SRK: I think the 16 beautiful players. I think they are really wonderful. The poster says 'Shahrukh Khan and his 16 girls'; I think it should say '16 girls and incidentally Shahrukh Khan also'.

VU: This film also put an end to rumours of bad blood between you and the Yashraj camp, which is false.

SRK: I don't know how rumours get started. You guys write about it and talk about it. So when you feel like stopping it, you stop it; whenever you feel like talking about it, I'm ok. I'm not bothered by it; neither is Yashji (Yash Chopra) and neither is Adi (Aditya Chopra). If you guys want to talk about it, go ahead and talk about it. I didn't start it, so I'm not going to stop it. I am bored of it, but that's not important. When you get bored of it, you stop it.
