(If you ever take a break from this stupid laptop of yours then you'd know. Others have Katrina Kaif or Malika Sherawat as their rivals. This laptop has become my biggest rival).
Preet closed his lap top and turned to face Meher.
"Okay meri Meena Kumari, you now have my undivided attention", he chuckled. "So tell me what is so special about today?" (OK my Meena Kumari) (credit Fatima)
Meher : y should I tell you Mr. Preet Juneja? Can't you at least use your brain a tiny bit ? Cuz then u may get a brain wave and let me know.
Preet: ( to himself) sigh what hv I got myself into 🤔!
Meher: ( folding cloths thinking - let's see what excuse he'll come up for nt remembering it)
Preet: ( comes behind her and gave a hug and smiles - whispering) I remembered
Meher: ( shouting and shocked ) what! How! I mean do u ?
Preet: yup today's the first time we had our very 1st fight !
Meher: Preeettt!
Preet: ok ok I was joking calm down 😳
Meher: so u gave up! Defeated!! U really hv no idea right?
Preet: right I give up ( with pout) ! I'm defeated ( trying to sound sad) !!
Meher: ( looks up Preet and with a huge sigh) we hv a doctor's appointment Preet! You promised to take me for annual check up. (Credit AASUS)
"Oh of course", said Preet. "I knew that. In fact I'm sure I have it written down somewhere in my diary too. I...uh...was just pulling your leg. Give me a few minutes to put these files back in the study and then we'll be on our way".
Meher watched Preet pick up his laptop and files and leave the room. She tossed the clothes she was folding angrily to one side, before sitting down on the bed with her arms folded.
"Doctor's appointment my foot!", she fumed. "I can't believe he really doesn't remember". (Credit Fatima)
Preet: (thinking & walking to his office room) why do I always forget everything! God pls save me from Meher!! ( Looks up and prays)
G3 : ( Preet bumps into G3) Beta where is your mind, can't you see me right in front of you?😲 (she's totally shocked but little amused seeing his lost expression on the face).
G3 : r u ok Beta?
Preet: umm haan ma... (he walks away mumbling something)
(he again bumps in... this time Kul di and she got annoyed and pulls his ears)
Preet : Ouch 😔 aww Diii pls I'm not a kid anymore 😛 I'm a father for gods sake!!
Kul Di: Then u act like one so I'll believe u - she walks away.*shaking her head*

As Preet walked into the study he spotted his eldest brother Prem there.
"Hey PB what's up?" He smiled.
"Not much", said Prem. "Just looking over some numbers in this report, for my meeting tomorrow".
"Oh..okay...I just finished up with these files in case you need them too", said Preet.
"You're working today?" asked Prem.
"Yes", said Preet. "I had a video conference with our clients in London earlier and then...".
"Preet...Preet", interrupted Prem. "What's wrong with you? Today of all days...you should have taken the day off. I mean if not yourself, think about Meher".
"Right", nodded Preet. "I'm going to take her out in just a little bit".
"That's like my good brother", smiled Prem. He patted Preet on the back and left the room.
Why so much fuss over a routine doctor's appointment? thought Preet. And how come PB knew about it? (Credit Fatima)
Meher: why hasn't he come back yet? *bit miffed*
Preet: (to himself) wait a minute. Y would PB worry about my appointment. I mean he used to always check up on me but not after I got married. Am I forgetting something else? Is it Gungun Noo it can't be. Meher would hv told me or will she 🤔 Heck y am I thinking so much - I never think after all "I'm the action Hero. He unconsciously smiles thinking of his stunts he pulled lately with his PB and Kiran Jiju.
( *who let the dogs out - woof woof woof woof* Preet's ring tone goes. )

"Hey Gaurav, what's up?" asked Preet, as he answered his phone.
"Hi Preet", said Gaurav. "Listen I know I shouldn't be bothering you today of all days. But I just wanted to let you know that the meeting with the Australian clients got rescheduled to next week".
"That's great! Thanks Gaurav", smiled Preet. "That'll give me more time to spend with Meher and Gungun".
"Yeah...I guess you can relax and just take Meher out now", grinned Gaurav.
"Hey how did you know I was about to take her out?" asked Preet.
"Come on Preet...we all know what day it is", sighed Gaurav. "I bet Meher's been waiting all year for it. So make it a good one. Anyways...I have to go. I'll talk to you later and then you can tell me how it went with Meher".
Preet hung up his phone, somewhat surprised at his friend. How come Gaurav knows that Meher has her annual check up today? He wondered. And how does he expect me to make it special for her? Hold her hand or something while the doctor is examining her. 🤔 And just why should I tell him how it went! 😡 (Credit Fatima)

Preet: ( thinking - God I need a stress buster. I can use one right this second - looks up at the ceiling).
( Preet feels something bumped on his foot. 1st he ignored as he was deep in thought how to de-stress himself. 😕 He again feels something soft on his lower leg, this time he looks down and grinned.😃 Apple of his eye, tiny tot munchkin Gungun is trying to stand straight holding onto his leg for support)
Preet: aww hello there munchkin - do you know you're just the person I need right now. He was smiling in spite of having stressed over "what day it's supposed to be" and according to his wife and his loved ones "he is supposed to remember" . Ufff
(Gungun as if she understood her father - pats his cheeks and giggled )

"I don't suppose you know what day it is today do you Gungun?" asked Preet
Gungun only gurgled some baby talk in response.
"Hmm...Too bad you don't know how to talk just yet", sighed Preet. "Come on let's go find your mother".
Preet headed back to his room with Gungun still in his arms, but to his surprise Meher wasn't there. "Now where did your mom wander off to?" He said.
He decided to check in the kitchen, but only found his Heer Bhabi there.
"Hi Bhabi. Have you seen Meher?" he asked.
"No", replied Heer. "I mean I thought she'd be getting ready for you to take her out".
"I know", said Preet. "I only left her for a short while, but when I came back to our room, she was gone. And that's strange, because it's not like her to be late for a doctor's appointment".
"Doctor's appointment?" said Heer, slapping her forehead. "Who said Meher had a doctor's appointment? Preet! You do remember what it is...don't you?" (Credit Fatima)
