I had written this poem long back during my college days... But After reading Neha's poem "Knowing Death" I just recollected it... So posting it here... Sorry for Off topic stuff... If it is not allowed let me know... I will Delete it..

Maut ka Anubhav

Maut ka Anubhav kaisa hota hoga?
Zindagi ko alvida kehna kya itna asaan hoga?

Zindagi sirf khushiyon se bhari nahi hain!
Dukhon ke saayon se bhi zindagi ghiri hain!
Phir kyon hume jeene ka itna moh hota hoga?

Maut ka Anubhav kaisa hota hoga?
Zindagi ko alvida kehna kya itna asaan hoga?

Ved kehte hain aatma hain amar!
Phir kyon reh jaate hain hum rishton mein ulajkar
Rishton ka yeh bandhan kya maut tak saath nibhata hoga?

Maut ka Anubhav kaisa hota hoga?
Zindagi ko alvida kehna kya itna asaan hoga?

Maut ke baad kya hain koi nahi jaanta!
Par kai adbhoot baaton ko man hain manta!
Kya iss liye insaan Maut se itna Katrata hoga?

Lovely and poignant poem, Sonali. Really beautifully written and conveys a profound message despite its short length. Lovely. 😃

I'm reminded of this quote by Dumbledore - "It's the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more." And like the Buddha said, it is attachment/desire that leads to suffering. Naturally we fear if there actually is an afterlife or just complete non-existence like materialists say... and even if there is an afterlife, our present self will still be destroyed. Everyone and everything we love in this life, gone forever. 'Zindagi na milega dobara' is really true. I guess we should make good use of our time here and live to the fullest instead of worrying about the unknown beyond. 😊
