That is probably the ONLY interview I have seen just once. The forum was very volatile at that time n it only made the interview impact worse. Barun quit because he was sick as was more than evident and wanted some personal time off, what Gul did was use his weakness to piggyback her ulterior movies on him and bring the show to closure. The coffee and chai session that followed later were for one objective: to clear Gul's image. She and the team can shout from rooftops that they wanted the show to continue, but truth is the show would die its death within a couple months if they mocked Arhi's hamesha wala pyaar and brought in a new love interest😲😡.

Barun's dignity and graciousness reflects in the fact that he shot the death scene; he killed the character he gave his heart and soul to, that he agreed to the coffee session to clear Gul's name and put to rest the speculation. One press release/ official statement from the PH and a lot of the negativity around Barun's departure could have been avoided but the lady choose tea and coffee sessions instead😕.
All I can say is thank you Gul for giving Barun an opportunity to take his TV career to great heights, but I sure hope that somewhere down the line you realize that not everyone you cross paths with is a gentleman like Barun Sobti.</font>

Meens love every word you said about Barun. I would also like to add that negativity was only on IF. Media tabloids had been & still is positive with anything about Barun. Even in the ugliest fiasco a TV could face media did not report one snide remark even.

Media is not kind to actors. If they are it is because the actor has gained that respect. Hope this continues.

I have often seen Sobti's detractors constantly undermining his accomplishments by giving credit to the character of ASR . However,a brooding angry young man with a dark past had been played umpteenth time in the past. It was Sobti's nuanced portrayal and intelligent improvisations that made the role a highly individualistic one. It is no mean feat to play a gray character (at times even abusive) and still connect with the audience in a way rarely seen on television.

@Red:- Barun gave 2 months notice for the makers. Couldn't they have gotten to a logical end for ArHi's love story in those 2 months. Considering that they did a complete bartha of Shyam's disclosure they could have gone for a small leap with Arnav and Khushi becoming parents and then kill both of them. They could have gotten the story to continue with Arnav and Khushi's daughter and could have woven a new love story for her and who knows the serial may have still been on air. Nope Gul wanted Arnav to die and Khushi to Rabba ve with his killer. That is plain sadism. Nothing else.

@Blue:- Exactly my sentiments. There was no press release for your lead actor quitting. Till now, Gul hasn't answered back to the critics for the show closure and I absolutely hated the mocking of viewers intelligence with their rude outburst letter on their forum. Just give one press statement and move on. Who told her to linger on for IPK. The main reason the fiasco snowballed was that there was no clear cut indication from the PH. And I believe Gul didn't clear any air because she wanted to piggy back on the fan's sentiments and close down the show. The interest to take the show to its logical end was never there and it was pretty evident with the tracks they threw in the last 2 months.

@Black Bold:- I sure hope Gul does realize what a gentleman Barun was during the whole fiasco. She may have rode on him to the show's closure but he was a gentleman to let her do that. Any other actor and he would have taken to press for the mud-slinging that happened on his name. Now her new show is also going through a Satyanash phase - So let's see how she deals with it. But I am a strong believer in Karma. You do good, it will come back to you and do bad, you will receive it no matter the time.
