Jiah khan is an eighteen year old girl who got a role in Ram Gopal Verma's film, Nishabd. Bachchan is the leading male actor in the film. Even though Jiah was born and raised in London, she managed to speak Hindi in the film. Her mother, Rabia was also an actor and is from lucknow so she was able to teach her daughter how to speak Hindi. According to Jiah, Amitabh is very handsome and hot who is not only helped her in acting, but also made her comfortable during the making of the film. In the film, she is playing a character of a teenage girl who falls in love with a much older man. She thinks she can relate herself to her character as it is very normal for a young girl to fall in love with an older guy.
The film's subject deals with the concept of an old man intensely reciprocating the love of a much younger girl. The film has Bachchan playing the role of a 54 year-old married man who falls for a girl his daughter's age and who is 36 years his junior. Varma who has co-written the film says, "It is important to realize that feelings don't age, human bodies do. Any man could be attracted to any woman. Romance between an old man and a young woman is actually quite prevalent in our society."
The female lead opposite Amitabh will have newcomer, Jia play the protagonist. Varma claims that a new and unknown face will increase the 'believability' aspect in the situation. The story of 'Nishabd' will revolve around Bachchan's life and how this young girl enters his life.
The concept of an elderly man being attracted to a younger woman has definitely been tried and tested a couple of times in bollywood. Yash Chopra's Lamhe, Subhash Ghai's Joggers Park and a few other films have attempted this subject before. Nabokov's novel, 'Lolita' has also seen two extremely successful adaptations in Hollywood.

Amitabh Bachchan is extremely excited about his role in this film. Director Ram Gopal Varma claims, "Nabokov's 'Lolita' is one of a 44- year-old man indulging in sexual fantasy and infatuated by a 14 year old girl, While my film is actually an intense love story, which is appealing to the senses."
Amitabh Bachchan is all set to play the role of an old married man who falls in love with an 18-year-old girl. He insists that Nishabd is an original story conceived and written by him. He calls it's an intense love story between an older man and a younger girl.

There are no steamy scenes in the film; he clarified "The thought is erotic and there is a strong undercurrent of sexuality, but it has not been done at the expense of putting Mr Bachchan in a demeaning light." The film also stars Revathy, Rukhsar and Aftab Shivdasani.
The story of 'Nishabd' will revolve around Bachchan's life and how this young girl enters his life Ram Gopal Varma says" Bodies age, but feelings don't. Older men get attracted to and fall in love with younger girls but because of their position and maturity, cannot do anything. It's the story of a man caught between his rationality and the strength of his feelings towards her."
While the concept of an older man falling in love with a younger girl has been explored by Bollywood--Seema, Lamhe, and Jogger's Park come to mind---none of them have really worked in India.

Even Jeremy Irons, who played the lead role in a Hollywood adaptation of Lolita, has not quite recovered from the role. It has left a lasting impression on the audience overriding all his other work.

Of course, Amitabh Bachchan is not at a stage in his career where he need worry about audience acceptance--he didn't care with Boom and no one's said a word about his smooch scene with Rani Mukherjee in Black--but such is a charisma of Big B. Nishabd will be another jewel in Amitabh Bachchan crown.

Shot primarily in Rajasthan, many parts of the film were shot within the premises of the Jaipur Palace whereas the desert sequences were shot in Gajneer. Touted as one of the most visually appealing films, Vidhu Vinod Chopra used 800 camels for the shooting of a particular scene in the film.

Storyline:
Eklavya
was earlier titled 'Yagna'. They decided to change the title as Amitabh Bachchan plays the title character, Eklavya.
Contemporary India. A majestic fort. A royal dynasty that no longer rules. A king without kingdom. Yet Eklavya (Amitabh Bachchan), their royal guard, lives in the time wrap. He lives only to protect the fort, the dynasty, and the king. For nine generations Eklavya's family has protected Devigarh, a centuries old citadel in Rajasthan. His marksmanship is stuff of legends. His unflinching loyality inspires ballads. Eklavya has spent his entire life serving the royals and closely guarding their secrets but now he's getting old and increasingly blind.

Eklavya The Royal Guard 14

Unable to cope with the suffocating customs of his land, the heir, Prince Harshwardhan (Saif Ali Khan), has stayed away in London. But the sudden demise of the queen, Rani Suhasinidevi (Sharmila Tagore), forces the Prince back to the kingdom he had left behind.
The Prince's return brings a rush of joy into the fort. His mentally challenged twin sister, Princess Nandini (Raima Sen) and his childhood love Rajjo (Vidya Balan) are delighted to see him. But the joy of reunion is short-lived.

Eklavya The Royal Guard 15

There is unrest in the kingdom: Farmers are being stripped of their lands. The king, Rana Jaywardhan (Boman Irani),influenced by his brother ,Rana Jyotiwardhan (Jackie Shroff), supports the atrocities being forced upon the helpless peasants. The king receives a death threat over the phone. An irreverent police officer, Pannalal Chohar (Sanjay Dutt) is called in to investigate. But he might be too late. The fragile peace of the land is suddenly shattered by a barrage of bullets and amidst the mayhem, the safely guarded secrets of the fort are unveiled. What follows is a story of deceit, revenge, drama and action. Set in present day India, the film has a special resonance for today's world, beleaguered by hate and violence born from fanatic belief.
Despite a star-studded cast the film has a runtime of approx. 100 minutes only. But with Vidhu Vinod Chopra at the helm of affairs we expect him to do complete justice to each of his movie characters. The film is slated for release on 16th February 2007.

THE BACHCHAN BLOCKBUSTERS OF 2007

Indian's cinema's first family, the Bachchans are all set to create magic in 2007 with some of the most anticipated movies of the year.

Here is a look at a few of them.

EKLAVYA

Vidhu Vinod Chopra returns after a long hiatus of seven years. Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan spar words and more in this scorching entertainer. Vidya Balan provides the light as rain relief.

What to watch out for: Amitabh Bachchan's bravura act.

JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM

Will director Shaad Ali get third-time lucky? We certainly hope so. Shrouded under the Yash Raj scecrecy clause, this one stars Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Bobby Deol.Yes, the same film where John Abraham didn't want second billing to Aby's baby and Vidya Balan couldnt get into the teeny weenie outfits. Lara Dutta did a net switch.

What to watch out for:The father of all item numbers with Big B, Abhishek, Preity, Bobby and Lara.

GOD TUSSI GREAT HO

Long in the making due to Salman Khan's hair-raising experiments and Amitabh Bachchan's diverticulties, Bruce Almighty is tarted up by debutant director Rumi Jaffery to give you a rom com. Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra topline this one. And Amitabh Bachchan plays god. But Naturally!

What to watch out for: The seriously funny ha ha has

!

NISHABD

Vladimir Nabokov may not approve. Jiah Khan plays the resident Lolita. There will be loads of low angle cleavage and chaddi shots. RGV's desi tribute to Lolita might just be a new chapter in shock value.

What to watch out for: Amitabh Bachchan playing Humbert Humbert

.

CHEENI KUM

No, it's not a film for diabetics. Adwallah Balki directs this funny rom com about an older man falling in love with a younger woman. Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu spark off romance and more.

What to watch out for: The chemistry between the lead pair, is ubelievably SEXY! (😉Haila!!!😉)

RAM GOPAL VERMA KE SHOLAY

We just hope Sholay isn't remixed into Chole Bhatura. Much ink has been split about the numerous casting coups and boo boos. We will know only how desperate Verma is when we see the final product. By the way, there is a sequel to Sarkar as well, starring Big B and Junior B.

What to look out for: Amitabh Bachchan as Gabbar Singh.

Seems...2007 is dominated by B's haina"??😉👏 also..there are many others like Sarkar 2, Drona, Bhootnath, Johnny Walker, Shantaram, 64 Squares, Talisman etc etc etc!!!👏

OMG Laxs Di!!!!!!!! Those are sooooooooo many movies to watch in whole year! GOSH!!! This is totally awesome that the Bachchan's fanily--Jaya, Big B, Abhi, and Aish are all going to be in the thearters and that's where everyone will find us too!!!😉

I really can't wait for all these movies!!!😉

@laxs: awesome article about nishabd and really cool pict. for eklavya!!!

Amitabh Bachchan in a slick fantasy flick
13th Feb 2007 19.20 IST
By Nikhil Kumar

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is slated to act in a fantasy flick, which will be something like 'Lord Of The Rings'.

No, the film will not be a copy of the Oscar-winning movie by Peter Jackson, but it will be based on an original story idea. Vidhu Vinod Chopra is producing the film while his assistant Ram Madhvani (who worked with Chopra for Mission Kashmir ) will direct it.

The movie, featuring Mr. Bachchan in a pivotal role, will have lots of special effects.

To ensure the international quality of special effects, experts from India and abroad will be roped in for the project.

In the meantime, Madhvani has shot a promo of the film with Mr. Bachchan.

Big B seems pretty impressed by Madhvani's skills. The filmmaker previously worked with Big B when he made a documentary on Bachchan called 'Everlasting Life'.

Apart from Chopra's film, Mr. Bachchan will also be a part of Rohan Sippy's fantasy movie titled Aladdin .

Amitabh Bachchan gets wild in NISHABD
By Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Trade News Network

Nishabd hspace0If you see some subtle yet wild romance building up between Big B and Jiah Khan in soon to be released NISHABD, then blame it on Mr. Bachchan's profession.

In the film he is shown as a wild life photographer and it is that wild persona of Jiah Khan that attracts him towards her. He starts clicking her photographs as she gets drenched in water while enjoying her gardening and acts as one of the sparks that leads to an unconventional romance.

What follows next is a love story about which even Ram Gopal Verma has to say that 'Some love stories are never meant to be understood'!

The film is aiming for a March 02 release.

Ghai gives a clean chit to Bachchan and SRK
<>document.write('Joginder Tuteja, ') Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, February 13, 2007]

At least one man in the industry has stood up and said that he doesn't see any problem whatsoever between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

In Delhi for an event, Subhash Ghai was quizzed on what he thought about the Big B/SRK war. His reply to this was that he didn't quite see any such war building up between the two. He justified his claim by saying that in a private party a few days back, he was seated on a table with both Big B and SRK and he didn't see any bad vibes between the two, let alone any war. They both were chatting away with each other quite comfortably which was quite a good sight in itself.

Wish people from both within and outside the industry, especially the media, take a cue from this and let the two superstars be alone. It would do much good to them and their families and would also save a lot of print/web space for other interesting information.
