Well I don't mind if celebrities wear something low end, which suits their body type! I am not really hung on designer labels. Just don't wear obvious fake one when you are being captured by every magazine b'coz you don't want to parade something that is rip off, china made. It's an insult to the hard work & creativity of the designer.
I hate when women want to parade a birkin or a LV as a symbol of social status but have got it in Bangkok streets...that just being fake!! But then, most of these celebs are fake, aren't they😆
BTW Ria, Thx for the wonderful write ups!! You should start a blog!

my family members call me a snob... people are so difficult to understand!!

That's true - the process is too intense and involved - people have moved on to casual dressing - fitted tailoring isn't even something that people desire.

You're not a snob - you just have good taste 😆

But that's only cheap fast fashion manufacturing. As for Birkins - they are still made in France. There is one bag that Hermes does manufacture in India though - forgot the name. LV manufactures in Spain and France - though there have been hushed whispers about them about how parts of their bags get manufactured in China.

once upon a time, india was clubbed with china, srilanka and latin america as places to set up manufacturing units due to the extremely cheap labor it has... cutting would be done in the country of origin, stitching would be done in the third world countries and packaging would be done in the country of origin... then it turned to cutting and stitching being done in third world countries and labels and accesories being attached in the country of origin... now the natives of the country of origin got pissed off and said what the hell?? the designer brands said ok no more third world countries and upped the price... but as this is business - profit is everything, its all hush hush and with shadow companies the raw material and the product without the labels and accessories attached are still manufactured in the third world countries...

its is getting stricter and these contracts are getting more difficult to grasp. china and srilanka is eating the market share...
in china there are villages after villages that are into all this... its all hush hush... you made read the label as made in spain, portugal or italy but i will tell you it is a lie...

Latin America - dior and Gucci and also the shoes... most of the hand-stitched ones - none are done in europe.

Edited - i said too much.

To make him feel "special" & prove to him how special he is to her. She was cheating on him on the side anyway. Which is why bitchy insiders said she would've slept with him regardless! But Harman being madly in love with her, would believe what she shows him.

Not reading properly.. Very 'uncool' 😃

This is why I find these bimbo ladies who lunch hilarious - because they think wearing the right label would confer status and prestige on them. If they want to be really cool, they should be the taste-makers, creating and understanding art, travelling and widening their minds, reading, cultivate style. You can't just become stylish by wearing a certain label.

Given what amazing craftsmen and women India has, it is much more classy to get something bespoke created in India with luxe materials rather than buying mass produced garbage that goes under a fancy brand name.
