Chapter 9

"Wait...I think we should get some light or a candle or something" Khushi said as all stopped in their way towards the metal ladder leading to the attic. "Khushi's right" Jenna walked over to one of the candle holders and grabbed a half melted candle off it, "Anyone got a lighter or a matchbox?" Jenna asked, showing the candle in her hand.

"Uhh...I do boot (but) I'm not guing alone" NK said in small voice. Malcom sighed and turned to Arnav, "Arnav you stay here with the ladies and I'll go down with NK to get it" Malcom said and in return Arnav nodded in understanding. NK and Malcom went down the stairs and were back after a few minutes, holding a matchbox. Khushi took the matchbox from NK and lit the candle before they all started towards the attic again.

Arnav slowly lifted the lid off and peeked his head into the attic, Khushi was right, it was pitch black in here. Arnav slowly helped Khushi and Jenna in as well. It wasn't a really big attic but it sure seemed to stink a lot and there was dirt, dust and cobwebs everywhere. They all walked in together and roamed their eyes all around the place, looking for what they were trying to find but the little light from the candle wasn't very helpful.

Khushi walked a little towards the front to get a better view at things when her leg collided with something hard causing her to shriek and bend down to rub her leg. Arnav was in next to her in the next second.

"What happened Khushi? Are you okay? Did something happen?" Arnav shot his questions in concern and bent down to look at Khushi. "I'm okay Arnav but there's something here" Khushi suspiciously pointed towards the thing she collided in. Jenna hurriedly rushed forward with the candle to look at what it was. As the light dawned upon it, they realized that it was a wooden coffin. Jenna gasped. "Open it" She urged.

Arnav slowly opened the lid of the coffin only to reveal a skeleton lying inside there. "That's probably the body" Arnav said as he scrunched his face.

"Let's take it down then" Malcom started to pick the coffin from when side while Arnav carried it from the other and the rest guided them down stairs. They walked across the corridor and down the stairs onto the ground floor.

"So, how do we get to the basement?" Asked Jenna, looking around for a door or something once they had reached the ground floor.

"Ummm...froom (from) what I know...it ees (is) beehind the stairs" NK said thoughtfully. Malcom kept the coffin down from one side and moved behind the stairs and sure enough, there was a door there. Arnav dragged the coffin till there before Malcom picked it up again. Jenna opened the door and stretched her hand with the candle inside the door to get a better view. "Guys, there's stairs here so be careful" Jenna stepped on the first step carefully, staying as close to the side wall as possible because there wasn't any banister or anything. Carefully, Khushi stepped in after Jenna, followed by Arnav and Malcom and at the end NK. As soon as all of them were in, the door behind them shut with a loud bang. NK turned around horrified and tried to pull the door open before he felt a push and the next he knew was, he fell down the stairs.

Jenna and Khushi quickened there pace to go and check NK. Once they reached there, they saw NK sitting there with his bleeding arm which seemed to be grazed by something sharp. "Ahhh" He hissed out in pain as he tried to touch the wound. "You okay?" Jenna asked him to which he just nodded before getting up and dusting the dirt off him.

Arnav and Malcom put the coffin down in basement and looked around. "Now, where is that secret basement or whatever?" Arnav questioned. "You read that it was behind some door or something, right?" Khushi asked as she looked around for a door but couldn't find any. Arnav was about to walk forward to check the place properly when he felt a burning grip on his leg and before he knew it, he was pushed back with so much power that his back smashed against the solid wall.

"ARNAV!!" Khushi screamed in horror as she ran over to him and helped him stand up again before they heard Malcom shout, "Watch out!!" Arnav looked over Khushi's shoulder to see a showel flying towards them. Arnav immediately ducked down just in time to save himself and Khushi.

Malcom was about to step forwards when he was he felt himself getting chucked on the floor and then getting dragged by his neck towards the wall in front of him, he squeezed his eyes shut. And just before his head could get smashed into the wall, he felt another grip on his foot. He turned with difficulty to see Jenna and NK holding his feet to stop him from getting smashed against the wall. Malcom widened his eyes as the grip around his neck loosened and then, there went Jenna and NK flying off the ground and towards the wall behind them. Jenna anticipated from the clash against the wall but instead, she felt herself break through the muddy wall and land into something like a cave. The candle had flew from her hand when she was chucked away but now the light coming from the other end of the cave illuminated the basement a little as well.

Arnav clutched Khushi's hand before he rushed into the cave type of thing. He wildly looked around the cave and then back at Malcom and NK who were hung in mid-air by now and were almost suffocated. They had to hurry up. "LOOK!!!" Khushi shouted as she spotted something that looked very much like a treasure. Arnav and Jenna ran there and lifted the lid off to reveal the jewels. They didn't have any time to waste so they ran back into the basement with Arnav carrying the heavy box with him.

"Open the lid!!" Arnav commanded as Khushi and Kate quickly bent down to open the lid of the coffin and in the next second Arnav tipped over the all jewels into the coffin before tightly closing it shut. Suddenly, Malcom and NK fell onto the ground and took a deep breath in, all the flying objects fell lifeless on the ground like gravity just returned back. Jenna ran over to Malcom and hugged him and Arnav grabbed Khushi into a tight hug. Finally, it was all over...they were safe, however the next moment they were proved wrong...

"Never Forgive!" First they heard it from inside the coffin but then slowly it started echoing from all around the room like someone was chanting Never Forgive'.

Arnav looked up at the ceiling when he heard a loud crack and then his eyes widened in fear as the realization dawned upon him. "WE NEED TO GET OUTTA HERE!! TOWARDS THE CAVE EXIT!!" Arnav shouted as he realized that the house was about to collapse. He grabbed Khushi's hand and ran towards the cave, followed by the rest. Arnav carefully watched out for the falling pieces of rock from above and dodged them, jumping over the ones at the ground.

Suddenly NK tripped over a rock and fell, they all turned around to look at him. Arnav ran back to help him when Khushi shouted, "ARNAV!!!". "Khushi you go, I'll be right behind you people" Arnav shouted back as he lifted a heavy stone off NK's legs. Khushi started running back towards Arnav when a huge rock fell right between them. "ARNAV!!" Khushi wouldn't have left if Jenna hadn't dragged her out after looking at the condition of the cave.

Khushi, Jenna and Malcom looked at the house collapse down, Khushi couldn't hold on any longer and her legs gave away making her collapse on the ground too, just like the mansion in front of her. Khushi sobbed uncontrollably even when Jenna and Malcom tried to console her and reassure that Arnav would be fine and will be out any moment. Khushi knew Arnav would be out, their love was much stronger than this but what she didn't like was the helplessness she had inside her. She couldn't help the person she loved the most, her husband when he was in such a bad condition. What if something severe happened to him? Khishi's eyes widened at that and she cursed herself for thinking that way.

"LOOK!!" Shouted Malcom as he saw two figures walk out from the side of the mansion, or more like what was left of the mansion. Slowly, Khushi started breathing again as she Arnav walk towards them, supporting a limping NK. Khushi ran towards him and literally jumped on him causing him to stagger back a few steps. Arnav immediately responded to the hug and pulled her closer, if that was possible. Suddenly, without a second thought Khushi pulled back and first she slapped him across the face and shouted at him, "What the heck did you think you were doing?! You sent me away!! What if something had happened to you?!!?! Huh?! Stop smiling Arnav Singh Raizada!!!" Khushi let all of it out as she saw Arnav's face change from shock to guilt and then to amused before he smiled, the next second she crashed her lips on his without a warning showing all her emotions in that one kiss.

Malcom, Jenna and NK watched on amused but then later turned towards each other and shared a group hug. After they were all done, they started walking towards the main door when they found thick vines wrapped around it. NK stepped forward and touched the vines and they all fell lifelessly back on the ground. Finally, this was over. Their Honeymoon in the haunted mansion was over...!

Yeah...I knoe da 'never forgive' scene was inspired from da 'Woman In Black'...but I really liked it..hehe..

Anyway...so dis was da last chappy of dis SS...and I'm not sure if I'll be writing an epilogue but I'll notify you guys if I do right it...and for now...Bye! Actually, no we'll meet at sum other fanfic..hehe...

So arnav's idea did work!!! And it was all so dramatic, with objects flying, people being suspended in the air, pulled by some invisible force!! Ekdum horror movie types!!

Thank god all the remaining people came out alive!! Thank you fir not killing anyone else!! For one moment i had thought Nk would die!!

Finally Elizabeth's soul rests in peace with her treasure!! My god what an obsessive materialistic girl she was!! Marna manzoor hai but treasure dena nahi!!

I had a nice time reading it, getting scared, anticipating the next move of the spirit, praying all the time that you don't kill anyone else!!

The story was short and spooky!!
