The makers promised us the following 😃

25% masala to cater to modern audience and TRPs
25% historical facts, politics and accuracy to era
50% romance based on the JA movie & common folklore that believes in a love story...

The makers have stuck to this so far and that's what makes this serial what it is - INTERESTING!!!...if you look at the TRPs its higher than most other historical/mythological serials (accurate or not!!!)

slight modification
50% masala to attract "saas-bahu-never ending cry" loving viewers
30% filmy romance to attract modern audience
15% based on JA movie
5% based on what historian say

Listen dude. and I don't mean any offense, but the show has not portrayed any masala as of yet. It has been pretty subtle, with the drama minimized. And the show is freaking based on the movie. So, it will naturally follow the movie. It is about Jodha Akbar, after all. And if they followed historians slavishly, then there would be no romance at all. We have enough of negativity about this in the forum, we do not need more. You don't like the show, don't watch it. 😆 Easy enough. 😆 People want to watch history, will go watch documentaries, not daily soaps. 😆

well said SG...
The show has shown Mughals as strong, brave yet with different degrees of heartlessness (BK, Akbar, sharifu, AK etc) which has been documented by many-a-historian and which is why they became so powerful conquerers...
similarly Rajputs have been shown brave but at a point of time when their power was declining (sujamal, suryabhan, MP etc) ...so I don't know whats the complaint...only major mishandling is possibly of Ruqs character!!!!

and as for the Mainawati deluge and Jodha's occassional tears...I don't know if historians have proved that ladies didn't cry that much in the 15th-16th century...😆

Haha, I don't get it either. Apart from the Ruqaiyaa thing, where is the mishandling? History says Adham and Maham were not good. History talks about the great relationship between Maan Singh and Jalal. If you have a problem with the lovestory between Jodha and Jalal itself, and want to see the love-story of Ruqaiyaa and Jalal, then let me tell them, that it will not work. 😆 People do not like historicals much, and a historical with no intense love-story is bound to fail. The producers are just trying to make it work. 😆 I honestly don't get people. 😆 I guess you are right, I am sure the historians said that ladies from that era did not cry. 😆

why are you take it as so offense...I am very much fond of J-A saga...I watched it from very first episode...I also know little bit of history also...So my expectation is very high about this saga... I am very much disappointed about what they are now showing...Maham Anga was a great politician, brave woman...become a widow and without any background (Khandan)...she controlled the mughal kingdom for certain period...Rukya begam was also very clever with respect to other lady...Jodha (whatever be the name) turned Akbar from conservative to liberal...I respect them all...So I can't tolerate this kitchen-mirchi drama and the filmy bathing scene..at least for those great ladies..

Rather than posting historical facts about Jodha and Akbar and stating what the tv show is showing is not historically accurate y dont we put our comments on how the tv show is doing! Comments how fabulously Rajat and Paridhi are acting and rest of acting crew and how beautifully every thing on the set has been designed! Please guys dont take it as a bashing post but i'm just saying cant we all leave the historical accuracy and enjoy the tv show?

Please post your views on this!

thank you!

People will only start commenting on history if you show something totally opposite of what happened in reality... one cannot take so much liberty so as to completely change the facts stated in different records.

Akbar is shown to be smitten with Princess Jodha even before marrying her ;
BK shown as a man of 50 years whereas he died when he was in his late thirties;
Mahamanga plotting to kill BK ( though she was against him, there is no rumor/fact that she killed him);
Hindu rituals happening in Akbar's marriage ( though we all enjoyed it, but historically it is inaccurate) ;
Raja Bharmal is seen to be hating the Mughals while the truth is Raja Bharmal of Amer had been diplomatic enough to maintain amicable relation with the Mughal i.e. Humayun during most of this reign

---- Balaji or for that matter Asutosh Gowarikor had taken too much liberty in creating new events which never happened.

Right now, no one is complaining about the harem politics because we really do not know what used to happen in Akbar's harem 😉 and we are all happy to see the mirch-masala incidents. 😃
Only troublesome thing is - Ruquaiya begum has been stooped too low which is very unrealistic to any intelligent viewer. A Queen is laughing like a maniac, insulting new wife every now and then - yeh baat kuch hajam nehi hui

I don't think ignoring the historical accuracy in a show like Jodha Akbar is gonna work or be appreciated by the sensible lot.

Every one playing the roles are actors and doing a great job mostly. But that doesn't mean those good actors (or the great writers) can go around showing anything under the name of the Historical love saga.

History wasn't about kitchen or haram politics or the bath tub kind of scenes. For the former we can very well watch shows like Saath Nibhana Saathiya/DABH and for the latter any other 4 lions shows!

The show has kept its background as depicting how Jodha changed a rude Jalal to the Benevolent king – AKBAR. Yes the transition will be slow and maybe all this mirchi dalo in khana and bath tub scenes will end up there. But the portrayal of such scenes/behavior really doesn't respect or bring out a decent history.

If Ekta decides to add her masala tadka to this show…and ruining the culture and characterization just to make the DABH type audience and 4 lions show kind of audience happy, then as well not call it a historical love saga!

Maybe people are judging too early and there is some interesting stuff in store for us…but I guess till tht interesting stuff surfaces we are very well entitled to say how the show is not actually going the historical way!

I did not find your post offensive, I just said what I had to say. You expressed your opinion, I expressed mine. Give and take. 😆 Hundreds of protests and posts later, I do not find anything offensive anymore. So chill. 😆

Haha, it is a historical love saga in the name only. It is more of a fan-fiction based on the movie. 😆 Watch it like that, and you will have fun.
