It's raining inspiration😆 Maybe cause I have nothing to do lately...This one's for all the ViChi and RaHi lovers! Enjoy!😳
---------------------------
I'm sorry, Princess.
54 missed calls and 32 - make that 33 - messages. Panchi sighed. She sneaked a glance at Ranveer who was busy reading some book Rukmini had given him. He was so engrossed, surely he wouldn't notice if she picked up her phone just to text Avi back. She deftly reached out towards the ornate wooden side table only to have her hand swatted away.
"Owww!!!"
"Don't even think about it Moti."
He hadn't even bothered to look up from his book. Panchi huffed, crossing her arms over each other as she took in his form. He was lying sprawled across her bed while she sat on the chair - the little devil. She couldn't believe he was making her do this. Avi must be so -
"He must be so worried - blah di blah di blah." Oops, had she said that out loud?
"Really, Panchi? Haven't you got any restraint? It's been...", Ranveer looked at his watch - 6 p.m. -, "...2 hours since you last saw him. You're such a pushover."
Panchi got up haughtily, snatching the book out of his hands. She gave him a glare.
"I am NOT a pushover, Mr. Ranveer Shergill. And aren't you forgetting one little important detail? You didn't let me talk to him the ENTIRE day!"
Uh-oh. Full name use - that was never a good sign. Ranveer backed up against the pillows, his hands raised up in surrender. He knew when not to push Panchi. But he couldn't let her talk to Avi - no one made his bestie upset and got away with it. Not even Avijeet Chandan Roy. Yes, he definitely wasn't feeling too kind towards the superstar's son at the moment. Time to use a different tactic, he thought teasingly.
Oh, how she'd love to wipe that smirk off his face! He was so enjoying torturing the two of them. The jerk -
"Aren't you getting a little desperate Moti? You can't even go one day without talking to him? You know there are girls that would have their boyfriends practically begging for mercy if they were in your shoes. Avi's going to know you're a pushover...it's not like he's inexperienced anyway." Ranveer paused for impact, taking in her expression.
Her huge eyes had that lost puppy look as she thought, her mouth frowning slightly.
"What do you mean?"
Mission Successful, Ranveer thought. He knew his Moti so well.
"C'mooon Moti", he drawled out, retaking his position on the bed. "You know what I mean."
"Nonu, I'm not in the mood for word games. Just say it straight up."
"Alright, Alright - It's pretty simple - just play a little hard to get."
"But.."
"Moti, it's not going to hurt you. Besides, you don't want Avi thinking you're a pushover otherwise he might..."
Ranveer stifled a laugh at Panchi's puzzled expression. She was so innocent.
"He might what?"
"You know. Move on. Decide he needs someone more fiery."
Panchi's forehead was creased as she gave thought to what Ranveer had just said. Would Avi do that? But hadn't he always said that he loved her sweet nature? She sat down again, defeated and lost in thought.
Ranveer couldn't believe his eyes. She believed him. She totally believed him. He'd expected a rebuttal at least. And with that, he could no longer help it. He burst out laughing. Panchi gaped at his sudden outburst.
"How. Could. You. Believe. Me?!", he managed to ask in between gasps of laughter.
He was such a jerk...How could he?! Panchi threw the book, missing him by an inch as it hit the wall with a thud.
"Oye, moti! Bache ki jaan legi kya?"
"I'm going to kill you today! That was not funny!"
**********************************
Avi stood outside, unsure of whether he should ring the doorbell. She hadn't answered any of his calls or messages. Not to mention, she'd avoided him at College. Clearly, she didn't want meet him. His dilemma however, was solved by Mrs. Rastogi who happened to be on her way out.
"Hello Avi beta, how are you?"
"Hello aunty, I'm good and you?"
"Just going out for some shopping...is that for me?", she asked teasingly, eyeing the bouquet of red roses he'd brought along.
"Uhh..."
"I'm kidding!", she said chuckling as relief coloured Avi's expression. Teenagers. They could be so infatuated. "Feel free to let yourself in. Panchi's upstairs", she added with a wink.
"Thanks aunty!"
Well, at least her mom approved of him. He felt a bit more confident now as he walked in through the front door, totally unaware of what chaos destiny had kept in store for him.
*******************************
Ranveer slid down the rail as Panchi made her way down the stairs. She wasn't going to give up without a fight. He was so getting it today. Ranveer jumped and ducked as Panchi threw anything and everything she came into contact with: lamps, pillows, phones, remotes -
"Time Out!", Ranveer exclaimed as he collapsed onto the sofa. She had thrown practically everything you could pick up in the living room at him. She glared at him, hands on her hips as she paused to catch a breath.
"I'm not done with you yet!"
She headed towards the kitchen while Ranveer took a moment to revive himself. He looked at the mess they'd created - Panchi's mom was going to kill them.
"Ranveer...what in the world happened here?"
Ranveer had never been so happy to see Avi in his life. He practically jumped up in excitement. All past grudges removed...only Avi could save him from Panchi's uncharacteristic anger today.
"She's gone insane", he muttered.
"What?," Avi asked, unable to hear him.
"Nothing - just...OWWW!"
Avi and Ranveer were ducking for cover as Panchi started bombarding Ranveer with Apples, Squash, Cucumber, rolling pins, spatulas - anything she'd found. Ranveer hid behind Avi for cover knowing it was his best bet.
"Avi - MOVE!", Panchi shouted, aiming for Ranveer. That stupid jerk -
"Panchi - I'm just -"
And within a second, everything went black.
*****************************************************************
Ouch. His head hurt. Not to mention it was really dark in here. He couldn't see anything. All Avi could hear were voices. Two people were arguing.
"It all happened because of you!"
"No, it didn't!"
"Yes, it did! None of this would've happened if it wasn't for you!"
Ranveer and Panchi were arguing? What had happened last? All he remembered was he'd gone to Panchi's house and then met Ranveer...
"Did I ask you to throw a rolling pin at me and then miss epicly and hit him on the head? NO!"
Oh yeah. No wonder his head hurt...
"Argh. Shut up Ranveer! Why isn't he waking up?"
"Wait, he's moving! Avi? Can you hear us?"
"Avi, can you hear me? Avi?", Panchi's voice was frantic and worried.
Avi opened his eyes slowly to find Ranveer an inch from his face beaming.
"Uhhh...Ranveer?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you move?" Talk about being too close for comfort.
"Oh yeah, Sorry dude."
Ranveer moved to the side slightly embarrassed as Panchi started fretting over him.
"Are you ok? Does it hurt a lot? I'm so sorry!!!! Should we call the doctor?! I'm really sorry!!!"
Avi cut her off. "Panchi, I'm fine", he said with a weak smile, "Can I get water though?"
Panchi threw Ranveer a look and he left the room muttering something about boyfriends and how he'd been reduced from a best friend to some ordinary Ramu Kaka.
They were silent for a while until Avi took her hand in his, raising her chin up so she'd look at him. He took a deep breath. Here goes everything...
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I wasn't thinking...it was about titli - I just didn't know how to react. I realize I made mistakes and I can't present any excuse for them...do you think you could forgive me and maybe, we can start all over?", he asked hopefully.
In reply, Panchi just hugged him tightly. Boys could be so stupid sometimes...
"Thanks Princess."
